I'm storing a 150cc moped in a basement that belongs to some nuns. They use this very nice basement for ironing, there's a desk and workspace down there and it is huge. However, I'm a nervous wreck wondering if eventually the bike will be giving off gas fumes or if there's any danger of a fire (I'm taking out the battery, of course)... any danger to these nice ladies? What should I do to ensure their safety and not have the bike smell up the basement and house? The floor is a very smooth cement. Of course, they keep their cars in one side of the garage closer to the door (my bike is much farther in and in their work area). Am I right in thinking the bike will be as safe as having the cars in there?

I believe they will be fine, since it is a very large space & they have 2 cars there also with no problem & they certainly have bigger gas tanks. I have a small 12x16 Workshop that I use alot & I'm storing (2) Bikes there also. Another option is to have the gas removed from the tank. I commend you for your concern over safety. Ask someone who works in a garage for their input. Even a fireman maybe. Several opinions wouldn't hurt.
