I left Mauldin, SC @ 8am this morning (34 degrees) heading for Caesars Head State Park.

If you haven't been there, once you get a little out of the town of Travelers Rest, it's a winding road up to the summit. If you click on the link, you'll see the view I had this morning. No clouds, clear air, and blue skies. Visibility had to be 50+ miles. I even had a few time where the kick stand did a little road scraping on the turns. We had rain here the last two days, so today's weather was really a welcome day.
From my house, it was a 90 mile round trip. So far, this has been my longest ride since I got my scooter last month. The only thing wrong was I forgot my camera. I have a riding jacket, and just bought some snowmobile gloves, so the cold didn't not bother me at all. I also have a vented full-face helmet. I normally have all the vents open, but stopped and closed all of them a few miles from home. If you don't think those vents do anything, leave them open on a chilly day !
I just hit 900 miles on this trip, and so far I've been real happy with my scooter. It's the JCL 250A. My only issue is the bike shakes at 65+ miles per hour. I just put the Dynabeads in the tires, but I think my next project is to replace the stock tires with Michelins. The beads helped a little, but I think my tires are out of round.
I left the house just planning on testing out the new Fieldsheer jacket and gloves. Not feeling the cold at all, I just kept on driving (wife likes to sleep in). Overall, I would rate this short trip an 8. Light traffic, beautiful weather, and a curvy road.
