Ar'rite, ya'll from Jackson to the Gulf Coast, lets have your suggestions for a ride before it gets to wet and cold. List your dates for November. If that's to short of notice let's at least set something up for the spring. Update: Hub City ScootDawgs

We ride every Sunday here in N'awlins... we also have the Big Easy Weekender every spring. Three days of fun, food and friends! Y'all come down!

I'm open to pretty much any weekend in November except Thanksgiving. Hattiesburg is pretty much centrally located so it would be a good place to link up. Will explore some good roads to ride if we can pull it off. The Big Easy Weekender sounds like a good spring event to attend.

Well November is kind of busy since I teach college and we're trying to finish up the semester, which pretty much ends with the Thanksgiving holidays.
There are at least two other guys around the Hattiesburg / Petal area that I know of as well - medic7577 and hubcityscoot. scootninms is from new Albany (up north). They all have Linhai scooters, and scootinms has a new cruiser bike as well as the Linhai.
I'm open for a late fall ride around mid-November, or Spring too. Just let me know.

Sounds good. Just need to set a date and a place to meet. Like I said I'm pretty much free any time. Any suggestions?

Your more than welcome. We just need to hear back from some other folks on when would be a good time for us to get together. I've been wantong to get in on one of Big Guy's rides myself some time. It,s a pretty good ride down there from Hattiesburg, over 100 miles, but what's that for a dedicated scooterist? We will see who responds and see if we can get this mini rally off the ground.

Just you and Gulfcoastscooter. I was lookong at the weather forecast and next weekend looks good. Is Sat. or Sun. the 8th or 9th good for you? Can you make it to Hattiesburg or is that too far? If that's too far we can plan further south. I was thinking of Cstephen up in Clinton.(Jackson) Just thought I'd throw this out and see if we can nail something down.

well right now, the scoot won't start. 460 miles was fine then left it for 2 weeks and won't start. tried starter fluid, it's getting gas. so until i can get it figured out, i'm stuck. i'd love to though. so squarehead where are you located??? south MS covers a lot. i'm in long beach.
and beleive it or not two friends of mine saw a scooter just like mine halloween night at a bar. and i thought mine was special.....
if you want to reach me, pm me and i'll give you my ph#. that's sometimes easier than what we are doing now.

We'll see how this plays out. Will keep you posted. I have organized rides all over the country over the past 40 years, and in my experience, nothing will 'play out' unless you have some specifics. The best way to do it is to just make a date and time, create a route and post it. You might be the only one that shows up, or there might be 10 people there. A friend of mine in Kentucky did this, and he rode the first three rides by himself, but still had a good time and posted pictures. On the fourth ride, three other people showed up, and now, abaout six months later, five to twenty people show up every week and they now have an official club. You have to 'just do it', and consistency is the key... hope this helps. -Rich

Thanks Rich. Ithought of that then I got sidetracked and sort of got off the notion. We'll get something going soon. I still want to get down to one of your Sunday rides soon. Buddymom said she has been to a couple of them and had a good time. Thanks for the advice and interest. Roger

Sorry about starting a new post and abandoning it. I have been working a lot of overtime on a swing shift. My short cut to ScootDawg hasn't worked for a while either. I looked around the site a little this morning to try and catch up. I read the announcement "More Than Angry". To quote Earlwb "that really sucks". I see where others have been able to get thru since I have, so I have set a new shortcut directly to the forum page.
Well It's dipping to the mid 20's right now, but in South Mississippi, you never know. It could be short sleeve weather by Thanksgiving. I guess any riding from here to spring will be on short notice. Squarehead67, I will pm you as soon as soon as I get some time off, and the weather gets right. With the economy the way it is, time off may not be a problem.
Me and my wife both like the Idea of the Spring Ride in New Orleans. Bug Guy, do you have dates set for '09'. Where I work we schedule vacations for the coming year in December. I hope that a bunch of us from Mississippi can get together and make the ride over there together.
CStephen, the nest time that I ride north, I will holler at ya.
Buddymom, we have been wanting to ride on the coast for a while. My wife had a Yorkie for 16 years. I think ya'll would get a long just fine. We have made a couple rides north to Phillidelphia, MS in order to take advantage of the cheap rooms at the casinos (mid week rates) and less traffic. Her riding skills and confidence are a lot better now. We will check out the parking at those on the coast as soon as we can
Here is a bone for all of you until spring or warmer weather.

Sorry I didn't respond back for so long....I love the idea of a ride, but this November...Whew....it's been just awful school wise. I haven't had a free minute since October. My poor scooter has been parked for the last two weeks, since it's either been 1. Rainy 2. Cold 3. both of the above. I dream of the day when I can just hop on it again, free as a bird and ride wherever I want to. But for now, She's sleeping under her cover waiting for me to get some time to ride her again. We DEFINITELY need to get this thing off the ground at least next spring, if not before then. Gulfcoastscoot: do let me know when you're in my neck of the woods. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and now it's time for all of us to implement those diets to reverse the damage we did (or at least it is in my case.)
