Okay, I am back on the fence again thinking about a Rattler buck ten, Is there anyone here that has anything (good or bad) to say about them? My main concern is the head light, I do commute to work and back home in the dark and the deer are really hard to see with my 1/2 candle power Diamo head lights.
I test rode one back a few months ago and found it was built with higher quality

it is the ultimate 2-stroke....quality build out of Taiwan. Headlight should not be a problem....

How's the pick up on it? should be pretty peppy as a 110 2T. I want one to do a mild build up on. Just a pipe, filter, and some tranny stuff, as a good pipe would probably just about double this things power. Plus it is just sexy. The headlights look like they'd be good, and from Genuine, it's quality

From my understanding, there is a pipe and a bigger jet to install and you can do wheelies all day long by twisting the wrist, in the stock form it blows the Diamo away at first and tops out about 60 mph, in the same distance the Diamo 150 said it was going 65 mph, after the purchase of the Diamo I found out that the China-meter was reading five miles an hour fast, the only review on the rattler said the speedometer was of by 2-3 mph, the ride of the rattler was more choppy than the Diamo.
Then darkness fell on the Diamo and the head lights suck, after adjusting and brighter bulbs were installed they still suck, I have noticed riding to work in the dark that there was hoof sounds in my ears and I didn't see the deer, if a deer was standing ten feet off of the road I cannot see it, I was wondering if the Rattler 110 had a wider light beam this this puke monster, another thing about the rattler was it is shorter than my Diamo, but you could feel the quality in the rattler where there isn't much here on the 150 Velocity.

There's a dealer in within a few hours called nohoscooter. www.nohoscooters.com that's the only place I can find that caries the buck ten locally. I would guess that they could get parts, though they may cost a pretty penny... Where exactly in MoVal are you Derrik? Aero

Personally I feel the rattler falls short of what one would expect out of a 2stroke at 110cc. Having said this I've ridden one stock and modded at the shop I work at. Also the bar setup is quite awkward for anyone of any length, speedo is somewhat accurate but even being digital is still off, I've heard this can be recalibrated to be more accurate. Overall it is definitely a high quality scooter though no doubt. As far as mods, we upgraded ours with 19mm carb, tuned trans and added the only pipe offered. The gains were not impressive imo.. I expected a lot more, but I think it really needs a decently ported cyl to take advantage of the mods. It was slightly quicker but top end actually decreased to under 60mph. If you like the body style and feel you can tolerate the stock seating/bar position, buy this scooter, it'll be great in stock trim. If you'd like serious power you got better chances with a different platform and 70cc

Sweet! You're just down the street! I live up pigeon pass about a mile past sunnymead ranch parkway.
As for another moding scooter the Vento R4 looks like a good candidate, as it can take a bore in the 90cc area, I believe.

The Vento Triton R4 is a great scoot, but you won't get a 90cc engine without a good bit of work unless you are lucky enough to find a Mexican version. You can do a 70cc pretty easy. Much more than that and you'll be splitting the engine cases to have them bored or machined for a stroker crankshaft. The Triton uses a Yamaha Jog/Minarelli clone engine. It's a very good platform.

Sure Vento Triton would be a great platform and would no doubt smoke a Rattler 110cc with mid to high end 70cc cyl $200-400 kit, tuned and matched with supporting mods of course. Scooter I was referring to is a 94+ Honda Elite S (SA/SR50) Has a Dio style engine block and for a street setup will smoke A LOT of modded Jog style bikes easily, however full race high dollar Jog is king. Not to redirect from this forum, but here is my Elite build with a Polini Corsa and Ruima ministroke crank, 74cc final displacement. Top speed GPS'd at a true 75mph I dared our guys at shop to race Rattler against me haha Summary: www.scootertime.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=164Full build: www.hondaspree.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4807

I believe to put it simply, the Rattler is the fastest (not the biggest, that'd be the Stella) from the factory, sold-in America two stroke. It's the baddest of a almost put-out-of-existence-by-retarded/overzealous-EPA-regulations breed of scooter.
