Well, it looks like I'm being transfered to the big city, San Jose, in Jan. and I need a sm. street fighter to split lanes with(no rules there).
There are a couple of very kewl "big" 2-smokers not available in the States.
One, of course, is the 100cc Zuma, called the BWS here.
The other is the Genesis "Hussar", a 90cc model. It looks like this(with spec.s in Spanish);
www.crmotos.com/motocicletas/genesis/scooters/genesis_b08.htm
It's a QJ scoot, same makers of Keeway, Strada, Vento, etc., 50cc scooters, so I think it's a decent quality Chinascoot. In fact, it looks like a Triton.
But I'm kinda torn as to which one, they both have +'s and -'s.
Price(out the door)-The Hussar, at $1300, has a big edge over the $1900 BWS.
Storage-Again the Hussar has the edge, I would have to buy a trunk for the Zuma.
Tires-The Genesis comes with decent Duros, while I would have to replace the block tread stockers on the BWS(it rains a lot there). But, I would install Pirelli's, better than the Duros.
Style-Subjective, but I like the look of the Hussar better(they are solid metallic blue) than the "bug-eyed" Zuma.
Suspension-Big edge to the Yamaha, I think the frt. forks on the Hussar are the spring only type(like on the Vento Zip:(
Power-Slight edge to the BWS(10cc bigger), but the both can be easily mod.'ed. Pipes are made "in country" here and are nice and reasonable. Along with an air box/filter mod and maybe a big carb., these both could be 60 to 65 m.p.h. scooters, plenty!
Quality-The Yammie, of course, but I think the Genesis is ok.
The only reason I'm mulling over this now, is because there are only two Hussar's left in the country and they tell me there are no plans to import more. One is here in the beach town where I live.
Which would you pick?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
