Good evening, Dawgs.
I took a long ride on a winding country road this evening. Sixty-eight degrees and sunny. The leaves are starting to change here in MI. The late sun really lit up the red, orange, yellow and brown leaves as they were dancing in the breeze--it was magnificent. The air is so fresh and clean this time of year. As I passed a large field of long, dried grass, the wind made it look like silken waves rolling across a golden sea. It was hard to keep my eyes on the road. I wish I had one of those helmet cameras, so I could share it with all the dawgs. Riding a scoot can really get under your skin--can't it?

Sounds great. I had much the same experience yesterday. We live out in the country and after work I took a ride on the backroads. The leaves aren't quite ready to turn here yet, but some trees have a little. The hay is rolled in the fields and what tall grass is left was waving in the wind just like you said. I am like you in that I really want to look at the scenery, but you have to keep your eyes where they should be just in case an animal or someone in a cage, or even a tractor come out of a side road or a hidden driveway. It was a beautiful end to the day.
Have a bone for just having a great ride.

Hi Scoots! I really envy you guys up north right now, it's still hot as blue blazes her in Florida. I want to be a snowbird soooo bad! Y'all have fun!

Thanks for the bone newrider57. Hey, how do you manage to sail in OK? I took another scenic ride today; it was sunny and 78 degrees. That's Michigan--temp swings from 50's to almost 80 in one day. Lots of scenic, winding roads around here that I somehow missed while driving the cage. I've got to get one of those helmet cameras. Do any of you dawgs out there know where to get one?

We sail on a lake in NE Oklahoma called Grand Lake o' the Cherokees...or just Grand Lake. It is 60 miles long and has 1300 miles of shoreline. It is more than enough for us. Here is a picture of the marina where we keep ours. Our boat is the one with the RED covering on the front sail.

Got to love riding a scoot. 75 above today with a 5 mph warm wind. Trees have changed and leaves are dropping. Fantastic ride today.Never seen so many joggers, bicyclers, mc'ers out sand about. Probably the last warm day here. Long range forecast is for 40-50 or less. AM near freezing. Ah, but today's ride will be remembered.
My brother has a GoldWing. To him its the long ride. Try to tell him , "it's about smelling the coffee". It's the journey not the miles racked up that is so important to the scooterist.

Awesome pic newrider57. I saved it as my desktop wallpaper. Did you take it? If so, can you PM a higher-res version of it to me? It's a little blurry on my large screen. I like your sailboat, also. Do you have any other sailing pictures?
jeja, I totally agree. I have a 20 min freeway commute to work every day that the scoot handles beautifully but I find myself yearning for the long, winding country roads. Especially with the Autumn colors. I got a copy of a color tour map in our area yesterday. I'm going to check it out this weekend.
