Hey there wsc04forever,
You have come to the right place. Figure out what roads you need to travel, 35 mph and under = 50cc, 50 mph and under = 150cc, or 55 and over get a 250cc. You can search all manner of things here and solve almost any problem. Just check it out and stick around.
And welcome to the Dawg Pound! ;D
Hey, 2 wheel travel is just fun!!!

WSC I am a newbie to this forum and to scooters. I purchased a TANK 150 Urban Sporty 3 months ago. I can ride surface streets to work, but some are 55mph speed limit and people behind me that want to go 80.
The good part is the savings in cost. $2/day vs. $12/day in my truck. The bad part is the speeders behind me.
You might want to consider 250cc+ engines if they fit your budget.
I have been a biker for 35 years (Norton 850 Commando is my sweetie).
It seems to me that I have escaped from more trouble with acceleration than braking. With a 150cc I am finding that I only have the brake option. That is not as much a problem with the 250cc scoots.
Out on the street extra options are good. IMHO
You will have fun no matter what you choose. I laughed all the way to work the first day I rode my 150cc Tank to the salt mines
