Hi All, new to site, lots of info thanks
I have an 05 eton beamer and am having some issues, I thought maybe someone could give me some info before I haul it to the dealer for repair. It was running great for me, my wife and I were on a short ride and we hit a crater in the road and bounced pretty hard, instantly I lost my top end power and had to stop and get hauled home. It idles fine and opens up, but as soon as you load it up to take off, it just dies. I have removed carb and disassembled and cleaned, then reassembled, no change. I checked fuel flow and reed valves all look good. I am beginning to think this is an electrical problem, any ideas and am open to suggestions. My scooter is all stock. thanks in advance for your help.

Any time problems are caused by a jolt I tend to think of loose connections first. Check the spark plug boot, coil connections, vacuum hose, and look for leaks anywhere around the intake or carburetor.

Try unplugging the wiring harness that goes to the electric choke. My dad has an Eton Beamer II and had a similar problem. we unplugged the choke and it ran fine. They make a manual replacment kit for it also. I have read that they have a lot of problems with the electric chokes. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply's. I have tried a lot of things the last few days and have gotten no where with this thing. There is no electric Choke it is manual. I am wondering if a clogged exhaust could cause this problem. I am not sure how to clean the so called screen or even where it is, but I am going to find out.
