I decided to do a full makeover after I found a gentleman in North Carolina selling all of his plastic parts on Craigslist for $25.00. Plus, this way I wouldn’t have to deprive my riding time during the painting process. Originally I started the painting job outside, but; after having to fight wind and rain everyday, I ended-up inside the garage and it took about 2 ½ weeks. When I used to build guitars, I loved the combination of blue & purple stain mixed together, and wanted that color for scooter but also match the trunk. So, I used metallic blue and in different angles of the light, you can see a lot of dark purple with the blue (although not very visible with the camera). I haven’t decided if I will use the trunk again (it creates a lot of weight in the back), but it matches the body well. I also replaced the seat for another $25, and my total cost came to about $130 with all the painting accessories. Not much change in color, but in the sun, the metallic brings out the purple well. THE ORIGINAL BEFORE PAINTING FRONT BODY ALL COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR REAR NEW HEADLIGHT CASINGS

Thanks fastasser20!
The red lever is a manual fuel shut-off valve.

Thanks rallyrrr. The air intake is a Dragon Custom and cost about $125. It's great protection from rain getting into the carb and bought the shut-off valve on Ebay, under Yamaha snowmobiles.
I will try and post another picture tonight with the scooter in the sun. It's been cloudy and rainy all weekend.

Thanks 90GTVert. I was able to get a couple of pictures in the sun when I got to work this morning, and can see a little bit of the purple.

Looking at it again, there's one thing I'm suprised to see you don't have with all the other chrome goodies.... a CVT cover. Even better, custom painted CVT cover. Just more ideas, since you obviously like to do that kinda stuff.
You need to change your avatar too. The old paint job looks bad after seeing the new one.

Thanks guys! I have a black chrome CVT cover, but will probably paint the one I am using now with the same gloss black as the head lights cover. Originally I was trying to put my own labels on the side, but wasn't able to find anything I liked. So, I designed one on my computer and brought it to a local store to do it for me. It should be ready by the end of the week. Here what it should look like, but a little smaller. MY FIRST TRY FINAL DESIGN

Yes indeed very nice. Check this place out. I haven't purchased from them, but another place like it that doesn't seem to still be around. www.autobadgez.com/3d_chrome_letters.htmlThink I want to put a "TURBO" badge on my Morph lol I put custom letters on my Frontier - says SHIFT_DIVA where the SE (model) used to be.
