I have a QMB40 2 stroke 50cc QJ engine. My idle was way high, I adjusted it today to where it does not turn the rear wheel on the stand - but a hair more and it will start turning. Scoot does not stall. Is this adjusted right or do I need more idle? Thanks

That should be right. Just make sure the wheel doesn't turn even when the engine is first started when it may idle higher. I think the spec is like 1800 RPM. I have no tach, so I do it just like you have.

It has never turned when first started, but lately it has idled so high when hot that it could almost take off if I released the brakes. Way too high, sounds better now.

I got my carb way outta whack lately. Got a bigger jet and all of a sudden my scoot wouldn't start. I kept messin' with the air/fuel mix screw and the idle screw and pretty much did it like John Lennon said he mixed audio; 'Act like you know what you're doing, keep turning knobs till it sounds good...' Anyway, just carried a screwdriver around and messing with it till it got stronger and idled well. Good news is now I've got way more midrange and get to the top end really fast if I want to!

Oh, aimed to say that when I first start up, rear wheel is definitely turning a bit. When I'm warmed up, the wheel doesn't turn but acts like it's thinking about it. Just where I ended up after experimenting. ;D
