I have a situation where I need as much info as I can get. My Di tech 50 diagnostic light used to go out after the fuel pump stopped pumping when I turn the key to the on position. The light now stays on until I start the scooter. If I am cruising and I crank the throttle all the way open the light will start flashing and the scooter will die. I have to turn it off and restart to get going again. Ive inquired about the diagnostic codes which dont seem to apply to this situation in that the light just stays on during startup and flashes non stop when throttle opened all the way after startup. Someone had responded to a thread stating that I need to reset my TPS. What is a TPS? I've attempted to turn the key on while holding the throttle wide open in order to enter the "diagnostic mode" but this dosnt work. AS well this all began when I replaced my throttle cable. I can't understand how I am suppose to adjust it in that it has factory ends at both ends. It's not like I can take the slack out of the cable. Throttle responds like it should when I turn it so theres no slack at the beginning of the turn yet it seems as if all of the slack is at the end of the throttle turn. The scooter has lost power in the 28-35 range as well, it has been desrestricted and has new rollers (7 gram) and a hp pipe on it. It tops out at 49mph, acceleration is down though from where it used to be. 5500 miles are on the bike..

I have no experience with the Aprilia or any EFI scoots, so I can't be of too much help here. It wouldn't hurt to post the trouble codes and their meanings if you have them. It may or may not help someone here. Someone had responded to a thread stating that I need to reset my TPS. What is a TPS? TPS = Throttle Position Sensor Fuel injected vehicles often use a TPS to relay throttle position to the ECU (engine control unit). It can use the info to change timing and fuel delivery parameters. In order to work properly, the TPS needs to be at a certain specification. This is usually a certain voltage measured with the key on engine off.
