I’m a noob to scoots. Probably the biggest surprise to me about scooting was the smells. But I live in Tucson with a lot of Mexican restaurants which probably intensifies the smell experience too. I haven’t come across a Mexican restaurant smell I didn’t like. And some of them are truly an incredible combination of aromatic sensations.
But my favorite smell is flame broiled beef. Burger King’s and Carl’s Jr. (western U.S.) offer the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to flame broiled beef smells IMHO. Some steak houses also have incredible flame broiled beef smells, but for some reason I prefer the hamburger smells. Now there you got some aromas pleasing to the dawg.

I prefer the wonderful aroma of a control burn or a wildfire. Comes with the territory around here.

The smell of donuts baking at 5 am. In December fresh cut Christmas Trees, and of course a New England favorite, mud flats at low tide.

Speaking of smells, what about sights? I learned to never drive through a puddle in Mexican towns. They are full of, Yep, you guessed it, urine...

When I drive to Pace, FL from Pensacola, I have to drive over a 3 mile causeway. At low tide, there is an earthy smell from the mudflats, but there is a richness to it. At high tide, the salt water smell washes over the bike bringing the realization of how lucky I am to live in Florida.

i'm from the west so it's common to smell freshly combined wheat or mint or etc. but many years ago at about 2 am running up the jersey turnpike i ran into the unmistakable smell of freshly combined wheat and looking to the left i saw the combine in the field working. another refreshing smell/sensation is at night through like missouri dropping into a hollow and feeling the cool air that has fallen into the hollow.
i like the smell of money too---LOL
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

I like the smell of skunk wafting on the breeze, faint, not up close and sweetgrass like the NA's use for smudging ceremonies...every now and then I'll come across an area where that sweet smell is intense and then it's gone and corn, when the sun is fading you can see a haze over the corn fields; especially nice smell when the corn tassels.

Is it posable for a time of day to smell? I love the smells of early evening. For some reason riding just after sunset on a summer evening has a unique smell and feel that takes me back to the early days as a kid when i first learned to ride.

Well, I love driving in the country and smelling farms and hay. Could do without the pig farm.. LOL.. But it is so relaxing riding free and no traffic behind me.. Got to watch for farm dogs and animals that might run infront of me. Deer and squirrels mainly. A deer at 60 mph can cause desaster. A squirrel too. Part of living in a small town.

In no particular order, my favorites are: burger joints, freshly cut grass, bakeries, jasmine and the ocean air. There are other flower smells I like too but I'm not a botanist, I think one of them is called honeysuckle. Oh yeah and the smell of orange trees when they are blooming before any fruit is on them!

I was out for an extended ride on Saturday. As I went thru a small town, the whole place smelled like baking Cinnamon rolls. Talk about instant hunger. My wife tells me there's a little Mom & Pop bakery out there. Got drool all over my face shield.
On the other hand, Sunday I went for a ride to a different place. Rode by the sewage plant - GAG!

astroprof, I'm familiar with that. At the end of my street there is a stop-n-shop with two big dumpsters outside that always have their lids open to the Florida sun. So if I'm riding in that direction first I have to smell those two big dumpsters that always smell like damnation itself before I go riding other places in that direction.

Fresh cut grass, steaks grilling and a bakery.
I used to own an ultralight aircraft and its surprising the smells that rise to you on thermals when flying along at 1000 feet.

I went on a 72 mile ride around town and up and down some of the barrier islands today and on one of the islands I was riding past a public beach parking lot and a hot dog vendor had set up for the day next to the parking lot. I was greeted by hot dogs as I rounded the blind corner. OMG I had to stop, there was no possible way I could've rode past that. I didn't even know I was hungry till I smelled the hot dogs! I was going to take pics on the ride but my digital camera battery went dead, forgot to charge it before the ride.

It's funny how a smell can bring back memories, years ago I was headed to Memphis TN on my way on business. I was driving along a section of four lane highway near Millington Navel Station and I very vividly remember the smell of Honeysuckles for at least 5 miles.
