I've been lurking for a while and thought I should introduce myself. My name is Rob from the Chicago 'burbs, actually NW Indiana. I'm a 54 yo guy that just purchased a Buddy 125.
I've ridden motorcycles in the past, ATVs in the present ... but the Buddy is quite different ... I expect to have a lot of fun with it. I was a little concerned about the size as I'm 6'4" and 225# and had read mixed reviews about the comfort level of the Buddy for larger riders. But thus far, no problems at all. It's comfy enough ... but I obviously won't be hauling anyone else with me.
Anyway, as I'm new to all of this, I'm hoping to continue to learn about scooting and learn more about maintenance, security, safety, etc. from all of the folks here. I've been invited to a couple of 'scooter rides' in another forum (I didn't realize those rides even existed until recently) so those should be fun and interesting.
Looking forward to chatting with some of you.

Welcome!
Those Buddy scooters are pretty cool... I almost bought one but they were a little out of my price range. Did yours come with whitewalls? I would love to see a picture.
Ride On!

Thanks for the welcome. No, mine didn't come with the whitewalls, I think that's the 150 cc series. I tried to post a picture of the scooter, but I haven't been able to figure out exactly how to do that in this forum yet. I'll play around with that a little more this weekend and try to get something up. I like the way it looks, but I wish it was just a little larger. I think, in general, that the scooter is a little small for me. I'll get some experience with it this fall and next spring then, if I'd still like a size upgrade, I'll either pass it along to my wife or sell it, and step it up a bit. Rob
