Does anyone know of a source for a decent service manual or at least a schematic diagram for SUNL 250 scooters? The factory-supplied owner's manual and spare parts manual are all but useless.
I have a SUNL 250 scooter on which the taillights and front running lights do not work. The headlights and brake lights work. I've noticed that the lights come on only when the engine is running. I'm not sure how this is accomplished, but I'm guessing there's a relay somewhere, activated by the alternator. In any case, it would seem to be not as simple as a wire from the keyswitch.
If anyone can provide any insight into this problem, or any pointers to additional documentation, I'd be most grateful.
Thanks, Mark Z

Which 250 do you have, Mark, the MC-13-250 clone or the MC-54-250(B) clone? Check your fuse box under the seat...you should find your culprit there...check your mfg plate...is it Shanghai Shenke?

The headlights more or less run directly off the alternator. So unless the engine is running the lights don't come on. Which is nice as it gives you more power from the battery to fire up the engine. There have been a number of occassions where my Harley wouldn't start because it lacked that little bit extra oomph from the battery because the lights were on. I hate it when the battery goes bad. Check the www.roketa.com website under mopeds. Look for a scooter like yours and the circuit diragram they have ought to work for you Ok. The scooters are generic, they just slap on different decals and plastic to make different models and brands.

I went to the Roketa website. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I guess it's an MC13 clone, because it has a 12" front wheel. The MC54 has a 13" front wheel, and mentions an "aluminum foot pedal" (?).
Chinese knock-offs of Japanese products - what a strange world we live in! The manufacturer is Chuanl, and it says "St. Croix 250" on the side panels above the rear wheel. Year of manufacture is 2006.
I found a fuse box at the right rear of the vehicle, accessed by removing the rear panel below the taillights. It contains three 15A fuses, all of which test good. Nothing under the seat except access panels for the battery, the spark plug, and one panel exposes the coolant reservoir and carburator.
So if the Roketa schematic diagram will do, I'll try to get one of those. Thanks for the tip!
Regards, Mark Z
