yes, they are really glossy black but glow white.
I have a vest for my job already! However, my jacket has reflective patches already, and now my helmet fair glows in the dark.

Riding my scoot at night is not my preference anymore. My elder years keeps me where its nice and safe. I will ride during twilight, but that's it. I have a whole bunch of reflectors just in case.....

My helmet has reflective paint on it, so i'm covered there. my motorcycle jacket has reflective piping on it... check... my little motofino has at least 10 reflectors on it, PLUS a modulated headlight and tail light. the headlight flashes from bright to dim .. during the day only of course.. i have a manual switch for it. and my tail light flashes when using the brakes instead of just staying solid.

From Kent, of the St Pete Scooter Club:
At night...... Watch your speed!!! Don`t kick it so hard that you `out ride` your headlights. The more time you have to identify the `Target`, the better! Most problems that involve wrecks pop up at 3 seconds or less. Half near 2! It`s a different world at night. Train yourself to look for things that seem unusual. Maybe a darker or lighter spot on the road, skid marks (might be that pot hole) manhole covers, reflective eyes/movement=critter.
Regardless of day or night you must have, and practice to enhance, your Hard Braking Skills. Hard, controlled braking using BOTH BRAKES to slow you down as quickly and as safely as you can. You might die without this skill under your belt, no nice way to put it. This isn't for just the big scoots or just the small scoots...It`s for everyone and not an option. Is it?

I'm so much afraid of night riding on roads I am familiar with but it's the side roads I don't know of that i'm most scared of hitting a huge pothole or sewer drain that scares me. __________ Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets. - Arthur Miller xenon lights car grills card shufflers

Too many deer and wild animals like possums, coons, ect to have me risk riding at night. A scooter has to quiet of the engine and muffler to detour deer and other animals from just walking out infront of one. Also I was riding in daylight hours and had a deer run my direction and cross the road infront of me. Don't need to hit a deer at 60 mph...

As I said above, my jackets all have reflective piping and patches so I'm not as worried, but a vest is not a bad idea if you want to increase your visibility.

i learnedthrew the years to use perifial vision.especially at night.the reflective tape sounds kool.but i thnk to myself "what idiot cant see ascoot at nite"hello we have lights.do we have to light it up ike sum 4 wd mud machine?i personally wear a black pullover"its kold",burgandy lid,and have a black scoot.dangerous i know but i like the clean no decal look.so if i an see them during the day then i dont want them.but again thats my personal preference.sooner or later your gonna lay it down or be put in a position to respond quickly.i know.been there done that!i do worry about animals the most.especially deer.i run an anftermarket pipe so its a lil louder but none the less if a deer hits you.GAME OVER!last nite on my cruise home wide open and flying on a dark back road home.i didnt see them but they saw me two people, thats right people.jumped out of the ditch to scare me.now if i actually hit one it somebody wouldve got hurt for sure.im positive i wouldve got to ride in the flashing truck to the er.a scoot will hurt if you,or whatever it hits.nighttime rides are a bit dangerous but hell we only live once and all those crazys out there who dont pay attention they will remember me!wow, jibber jabber, jibber jabber i guess idid a bit of that.mymbad.

That's why I wear armor and a helmet, too. But I will continue to do what I can to improve my visibility. No sense making it easy for fate to get me.

I ride all the time at night and have a reflective neon orange vest, a reflective 8' flag, and use 3M tape on my helmet and scooter surfaces. That 3M tape is the best because it reflects at all angles and is bright as any tail light when lit by headlights. I may look a bit silly but I'm alive to write about it today.

I have reflective piping on my jacket and gloves, and some of the black reflective tape referenced above on my scooter body. If you're looking for reflective stickers, piping, pinstriping, flames, or just want some fun tooling around a website, check out www.streetglo.net/They seem to be a great resource. Drive safe all!
