The Semi-Official, Mulligan Southern California Scooter Rally is going to be re-held on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
Time: 11 AM Location: Puente Hills Mall, Corner of Azusa and Colima, Behind Ever Trust Bank between the bank and the mall. There is a big, empty parking area. Lunch: 12 Noon at In-N-Out just east on Colima Ride Time: Whenever we finish eating and chat-chitting Ride Route: (50cc tested and friendly) E on Colima from In-N-Out, S on Fullerton, E on Pathfinder, S on Brea Cyn Cut-Off, S on Brea Canyon Rd, E (then it turns south) on State College, End at Olive Garden at Brea Mall
Come out and join us for a great time and a nice ride. We made the new ride on a Saturday so hopefully more people can make it out and get in on the fun. Location seems to be more central to everyone coming from LA, OC, and the IE.
Safe scootin and see you there!
P.S. - I made the votes retractable so we can have a good idea how many this time ;D

so we know who you are halo but what dawgs are in the pic with ya? Gotcha...sorry for the dilemna there ladies and gents... On your left (my right in the pic) is TheRustyAxe. He was unfortunately sidelined as his scoot is in the shop getting repaired. He was forced to tag along and provide rear protection in his porsche. On your right (my left in the pic) is Acidburn. He brought his 2008 Lance Phoenix with him. The spot we found here was a great spot, although there were about 40,000,000 people there. It was in south Newport along the curve.

so is this upcoming event gonna be an all day thing? how long is everyone planning to stay down there for? and this event is gonna be 50cc friendly right ...

Post by halosfan06 on Aug 26, 2008 22:29:42 GMT -5
all day? Nope, wasn't planning it that way. Don't see any reason why you couldn't though (except maybe a sore backside and palm bruises.
timeframe: probably 1-4 hours'ish...but whatever works for people. Probably meet up and chat / look at scoots, then go for a ride, then have lunch, then ride home.
50 cc friendly? Abso-freakin-lutely ;D
As Rod Roddey used to say "Coooooooommmmmmmme on down!"

Lets DO IT!
We can make it an all day thing if we want to. Heck, I might even get a room out there somewhere.
You Locals can ride all day and I can to, when night falls and everyone splits, I'll just chill in a room somewheres with some sports sodas! ;D
Hey Stew! Can you remember to have people turn their blinker off after they turn? DOH! Powned! ;D
Paul
PS. Cali and Aero better show up this time or the ride destination is you houses! HeHe!

Here's idea number 1 for the ride. Please submit thoughts and other potentials. I would like to keep it in the general rowland heights/hacienda heights/diamond bar area. This is roughly equidistant between the LA folk, the OC folk, and the Riverside folk. Location Idea #1: Meet at: Puente Hills Mall [1600 S Azusa Ave, City of Industry] (Azusa Ave / 60 Fwy...~midway between 605 and 57) Time: 11 AM-12 Noon Lunch: Restaurant at the mall Ride 2 PM - 3 PM Ride route: Colima Rd east to Grand Ave, Grand Ave south to Diamond Bar Blvd, Diamond Bar Blvd SW to Pathfinder rd, Pathfinder west to Fullerton Rd, Fullerton north to Colima, Colima back to the mall. Notes: Colima has a lot of stop-lights and cars, but Pathfinder and Grand are pretty nice. Pretty hilly, so we should probably find someone to drive a cage and follow behind us for any 50cc'ers out there. Ride Route

The official time and place and route are posted at the top of the page. Let's make this an awesome rally! Archimage and I rode the route this morning and it is 100% 50cc friendly. He was riding a stock 50cc Honda Metropolitan. His scoot never fell below 30MPH and the great majority of it was a 4-lane road in an out of the way area. This means no riding on Colima. AWESOME! Anyways, lunch will be at In-N-Out so everyone can afford it (oh, and it's DELICIOUS). Ride will go from Puente Hills Mall to Brea Mall. I don't think there's anyone in LA, OC, or IE that can't make it here. It's within riding distance for EVERYONE. Sweet. So now, who's coming?

It is almost one week away...is anyone else excited? I've passed out at least 10 scootdawg business cards in the last week telling people about our ride.
So who's gonna end up going?

IF I end up comming (I hope!) I will be on the ninja most likely, but I will ride slow to keep it 50cc friendly. AND!!! If anyone gives us any crap, I can play chase and intimidation! I'll be the "Guard Dawg" and I have the bite to back up the bark! GRRR!!
shescoots: If I go, I'll take pics.
