There is guy in Coppell that started a Scooter Club. I spoke to Kent over the phone after I got his number from his website ( www.kalmor.com/scoots.html ). He tries to organize meetings and rides on Sunday from Coppell but lately he has very little success. He's currently goes to Twin Peaks in Lewisville to hang out with the Harley riders on Thursday Bikers night. I was going to meet him there on one night. He rides a 50cc and he tells the Harley riders not to be intimidated by his bike. Maybe we can pull together resources and get this club going in full swing. I ride a 250cc.

Hey North Texas scooter riders, Check out this link to the ReadySteadyGo Scooter Club www.readysteadygosc.com/?pid=homeIt's non-elitist...this scooter club doesn't care WHAT you ride(50cc to 650cc+), just that you enjoy the ride. RSG does rides on a monthly basis and members communicate primarily through www.dfwscooterist.com and other scooter forums. Who knows, if here is continued interest, other rides or meet/greets aside from the monthlies could happen.

G-Bo, They certainly have a great looking website. Whoever did it knew what she was doing. The question is, do they have chapters outside of Dallas? If you created other chapters, you could piggy back off their website. Easier than creating your own. We are struggling to keep our scooter club alive. We need an event/ride every week, but I can't take the time off. Right now, the best thing about it is the discounts we get from our Club hangout, scooter dealers, and bike towing company... I've joined all the other scooter clubs around here to keep them abreast of what we're doing, and at our last event, most of them made a better showing of attendance than our own club did.

Nickie,
RSG is a local club that's growing slowly... I'd encourage you to simply "show up" at as many club meetings as possible and build a network. Maybe even start a scooter blog page and announce it out for events, etc.
Scootering is still a young idea here in the USA, so consistency is key in getting a club off the ground!

Glad to see there is some sort of a scooter club, get together in the dfw area. I live in Cedar Rapids, IA and try to get a group together of scooters but most people just snub me off even the cheap scoots. In a year or so looking to move to Arlington, TX so looks like i have something to look forward to.
