Sorry, I tried to search, but the forum doesn't allow searching on three letter words like OIL. My new 50cc 2 stroke scoot needs 2 cycle oil and gear oil in the CVT. I own two Jetski's and neither take crankcase oil. My new 50cc 2-stroke scoot has a "Warning" label to use only 15W-40 engine oil. Where the heck do I put that? I see no filler or drain for crankcase oil.
Do these 2 stroke scoots take engine/crankcase oil? Sorry for the noob question, I don't want to blow up my new scoot and The books that came with the scoot don't help and my Chinese English to English conversion is not working well.

I think that label got put on the wrong scoot! You need 2 stroke oil which burns with your gas so no engine oil like a 4 stroke. You also need to change gear box oil. There will be a fill bolt and a drain bolt behind the CVT cover near your rear tire. There's a tutorial around here somewhere, an example from Dawg's excellent book, I'll try and find you the link.

Thanks Dave. Sorry once again for the dumb noob question, but I wanted to be extra cautious since the documentation for the scoot is a joke. I even have some upside down pages in one book!

My manual also gives me instructions as if it was a 4stroke (same as you with the oil) even tells me how long between oil changes in one place and 2 stroke instructions in another. I think they use the same manual for every brand of bike or motor. I think all these chinese bikes are all the same bike with different brand stickers on them.

Most scooters have a oil injection system, but no there is not a crankcase oil that needs to be changed. there is however a gear oil that should be changed once a year.
