Going to buy a 150cc scooter, and also a maxi scooter (400 or 500 cc) when financially able. ;D
Don't want to get a flat at speed. But if it is better to leave out the slime, I will.
Just need to know, that's all.
Thanks.

slime says it is not for use in vehicles with less than 4 wheels. There is a motorcycle counterpart to it, can't remember its name though. However, slime can eat away at your rims if left in your tire for long periods of time, so even if you did use it you'd have to change the tire out and clean the rim asap

Hi, mortar. Are you talking about fix-a-flat? The foamy stuff in the aerosol can? The reason I ask because green slime is used in bicycle tubes. I only knew that fix-a-flat was bad for tires and maybe rims. I didn't know that about slime.

I saw a bottle of the green slime at the store the other day and remembered a thread about it on scootdawg. So I looked at the bottle and right on the front it said it was also for MC tires. Just check out the bottle. I used to know somebody that used it in their four wheeler tires. Neat to see that stuff in action when something small punctures the tire.

Thanks agent22! It didn't occur to me that you could use plugs in scooter tires. It will definitely be going under the seat with the tools.

personally after 18 years in automotive industry and seeing what any of that garbage does to your rims i wouldnt use it.that and alot of that stuff is flamable/toxic also tire shops hate it cant get it off the rims so if you do a tire change dont be suprised if a rim is needed or recomended also and plug kits should only be used to get you out of predicament ,low speed only and only to a tow vehicle or short distance ,god forbid a tire shreds with a plug in it seen it on 4 wheels and its not pretty it would do some serious damage to both you and your ride on a two wheeler, beside tires are cheap enough for these scoots lol

I also looked at a can and it said specifically "DO NOT use in vehicles with less than 4 wheels".. so if you do get some slime make sure it doesn't say that on it.

Someone gave a bottle of green slime for my scoot and its still sitting in my locker. I got a tubeless repair kit in case of a flat, but luckily I hadn't needed it in 2yrs. I tried fix-a-flat a while back and it left a mess in my truck's tire that I didn't want to go thru that mess again. If I ever have the misfortune of picking up a nail/flat, I'll just pull out my trusty kit and fix it. Blowing it up with my compressed air capsules is another thing......
My dog's a little nervous....

I wouldn't be using any slime or fix-a-flat in a tire that has balancing beads in it.

I use a product called Ride-on IT is specifically for motorcycle/scooter tires, and does not have the mess of Slime. Check it out, it is highly recommended.
