My heritage is here! It took eight days from order to delivery. The delivery truck was an 18 wheeler that couldn't make it down the alley, so it had to be unloaded and dragged down the alley to my garage. The box was a bit damaged, but no damage to the scoot. I think they have packaging down to an art form in China... The box - There was a torn loose bolt, and a weld broken from rough shipment - My wife gives it her critical eye - Ready to unbolt the frame - I remove the frame - Caution: Some parts of the frame may have rough edges - Heritage 150 baby! More to come after assembly. - Tek

mom23,
I think she needs to master the bicycle first. Then she needs to be able to touch the ground... At 4' 11" that may take some time!
dogmeat,
What do you have? Roketa? I first saw those, and thought I gotta have one of those! That's what eventually led me to this one. And you're right - I think they're the same except for a few details.
I'm just taking a break now, finishing up the PDI.
I'll post more pictures when I get it further along.
Later! -

Hey tek,
looks great so far. the blood and the heritage match almost perfectly in the 2nd to last pic LOL ;D. Just thought I'd check in and see how it's going so far (also don't forget to check the bolts mounting the airbox and rear fender/mudguard to the frame on left side. I didn't check mine and lost the rear bolt. Resulted in mudguard rubbing on my rear tire all the way home and cracked the front of airbox from bouncing around loose for 15 miles. Still OK just kind of annoying knowing could have been prevented.)
hope all is well.

Oh yeah, it's a beautiful deep blood red!
Thanks for the tip, Shylark. I'll be sure to check those bolts. Sorry to hear about the damage to your scooter.
The mirrors and trim on the springer-style forks is about all I have left to go. I was late for an appointment because I wanted to get it together enough to hear it run. I still have to finish going all the way around tightening and applying loctite. Hopefully this weekend, but I just bought a house and have much to do.
Not much else I can do until I get a tag. BikesRHot contacted me and said the mco was mailed out the 20th, so it should be here anytime. I already have the insurance. I am ANXIOUS...
The only problem I've had is one front and one rear turn signal doesn't work (opposite sides). Probably just bulbs, but I've been too busy to focus on the small stuff.
I suggest to anybody ordering one of these to have a couple of friends on call to help with at least hanging the front wheel on.
It's a little tough with just one set of hands to: spread the forks, guide the brake rotor into the caliper, hold the spacer in place, hold the speedometer drive in place, then slide the axle through it all. I had the bike blocked up with my wife holding the handlebars to steady it. I think she learned some new words during the procedure. Yeah, next time I'll invite a friend over.
Oh, and the speedometer cable drive will fly apart when you clip the zip-tie that holds it to the fork if you're not careful - ha!
I pretty much took pictures of the entire assembly procedure. I thought about posting that in another thread for folks that haven't been through the procedure yet and were curious.
I've wiped it all down and it looks great. I can't wait to drive it somewhere so I can get some decent pictures of it. I'd like something a little more dramatic that the garbage bins in my alley for background. On the other hand, that might be a great contrast!
Later!

Later! - - Tek Hello again sir! I have a Jinlun jl125-t10 and yes I am sure the only real differences are cosmetic. I have been on mine for about 3 months now and am loving it. So far I have.... added a free flow filter re-jetted main changed the rollers to lighter ones new spark New cdi + coil and a nice performance exhaust are one the way!! I'll let you know how I get on. I am looking forward to seeing new pictures of your ride, it really looks great! Tom

Jinlun jl125-t10? That's a new one on me.
Maybe we should compile a list of all the names this style is sold under...
I have changed the fuel filter. After I have driven it for a while I want to start experimenting with the rollers, or more likey, sliders. Also maybe a better quality belt. Maybe fiddle with the carburator, but I want to see what it runs like after it's broken in first. The exhaust I'll probably leave alone as I like it being whisper quiet. I'm a gear-head at heart, so maybe that will change!
This was the first day I took it out, just got my tag over lunch!
How much performance have you gained?

Hey tek, how was the first day out? Sweet isn't it? I'm seriously considering the filter (to replace the cracked airbox) and rejetting the carb. (course looking at that stuff leads to looking at exhaust upgrades, cvt upgrades, cdi, tires, suspension)..........sorry, got carried away. Hope all is going well. (by the way, FYI, seem to be getting over 70MPG on this model, so you got that going for you). Mike

Shylark,
It's a kick - very smooth ride and quicker that I imagined. Of course, I'm still breaking it in so I"m going easy on it and varying the speed, but it has no problem keeping up with traffic at 40 or 45. Lots of throttle left. Again, breaking it in so I'm not going there just yet.
Yeah, it looks like this would be fun to upgrade. I'm wanting to keep it quiet and reliable though. Must... Resist... Temptation...

Hey Teknoyd,
My heighbor is about that size. She was so dead set against walking in this heat that she went to Walmart and bought a "Vespa" from the Powerwheels section! I asked her why she did it.................
"Cause it's the only dang thing I could hold up! " is what she told me in broken English. She's the cuteset little Mong woman. Teeny little thing, can't even ride my kids bikes. Gave her a backpack and a bike lock. She's been good to go eversince!

Mom23,
Is the "Vespa" she got one of those sold next to the electric powered toy jeeps?!
Sounds like my wife allright! My wife is almost 4' 11" and I tease her because since we've been married she's put on weight - she's up to 96 pounds now!
My primary concern, however, is that she has only had her drivers license for about 4 weeks now. I'd rather she drive something that offers a little more protection for a while.
I know part of learning to drive anything on two wheels is falling down a few times while you're learning your limitations and that of the bike.
I don't want her to do that: A. In traffic or B. On my new Heritage!
Thought about getting her a used mini-bike, or maybe a 50cc scooter to learn on.
Of course then you get into - is a 50cc really safer? It might be a little smaller and easier to handle, but doesn't have the power to get out of certain situations, so you could say you have to be an even better driver to stay out of trouble on one.
It would make me nervous to be on a bike that couldn't keep up with traffic.
I learned to ride when I was about 10 on an old mini-bike in a nice soft field. Maybe that's what she should do too.

yup..........that's the one!
She only rides on sidewalk, and she does wwwaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better than she does in a car (Still kinda has a tendancy to find the curb when she ain't 'spossed to! )
Everyone in our apartment complex is so happy she found two wheels!

Well, it's been a while since I posted to this thread and I don't know if anyone will notice that I have, but just wanted to mention that the trunk finally came in last week as promised.
The original was lost during shipment and the dealer had to wait until he got another shipment thru customs to get me one of a matching color.
Mike at BikesRHot took care of it as promised.
