Well, I've been lurking and learning here for a couple of weeks. I'm so glad I stumbled across you all! I've been contemplating getting a scoot now for a few months. I figure it'll be the ONLY way I can afford to go back to school and only have to work one job. Kinda hard to swallow paying $130 a week for gas when I'll only be making $200 a week!! The only option for me is the Chinese scooter. I'd looked all over and pretty much settled on getting one from Scooternitro until I saw Hillbilly's thread about getting a cheap ebay scoot. Well, one call to my dad's friend (ex diesel mech and general fountain of knowledge) and I figured with his help I could do this. Well, I just sent payment thru paypal for my scoot this morning. The main reason I even went with this guy was that when I asked about what kind of manuals it came with he told me it came with an assembly manual, small maintenance manual and a tool kit. Then said I could go to Scootdawg.com and get the GY6 complete repair manual. WAHHOO!! The scootdawg reference plus the statement on the bid site about their willingness to talk to buyer thru any assembly problems they might have sold me right there. So it should ship today, I'll get the tracking number tonight, and delivery time is expected to be 2-5 days!! I'll be sure to let everyone know how the process goes. So far they have answered all emails VERY quickly (even though the first was early on Sunday morning ). I'm looking forward to doing the PDI with my dad and his friend, then breaking in my scoot.
