I live in south texas on the coast, I surf, sail, and just try the live the "island time" Life. Got a new scoot coming from EVO its a 150cc touring deluxe and i am hoping to keep OPEC from getting any of my little meesly coinage to add to there multy trillions, and really i just like riding the little scoots. i drive a jeep around as a dailly driver and love the top off, I can smell the road and rag weed and love every moment, but my little jeep seems to be porking out on fuel lately so i thought i would get me a scoot to glide down to the harbor each day and check out the boats and maybe ride to my jobs..Soooo if anyone can tell me the good, bad, and the well you know!! about my bike that should arrive this week from NST it would be nice..am sure it will rust away here on the coast before it wears out....I hope .. yes i have scooted before, years ago..

Welcome to the pound surfer. First thing is to INSPECT the bike when it arrives!! Do not sign the delivery sheet until you are fully satisfied with the condition of the merchandise, often people will get a scooter that is not the color they ordered, and just as often they will get a bike that is not even the same 'brand' they ordered! Naturally you are looking for any damages done to the bike while being shipped. Don't worry about the delivery guy, he might gripe and fret over you being cautious (most of them are nice folks and understand, might even help you getting the box off)... once you sign off on the bike, you are in a different world if there is a problem, refusing the shipment of a bad bike costs you nothing, not one penny. You have the leverage to call the seller and get any problems resolved before you sign for the machine. Assuming you bike is as ordered and in good shape, you will want to do a PDI, 'pre delivery inspection' during this you will replace parts like fuel lines that are really cheap with good stuff you get at the local auto parts house, and other preventive maintenance steps. There are excellent threads on this procedure, so you have a 'road map' of how the bike needs to be set up. If you do the set up fully and properly, you will avoid know problems from happening! So read up, get the items ahead of time and in short order you will be riding a good machine while breaking it in! Enjoy the ride!
