Greetings from the possible future flight path of Tropical Storm Fay!
Just got my new Qlink Siena 150, and this website and forum has already proven invaluable to me!
Picked up the scoot on Thursday and the dealer had already changed out the oil. Gave her a hard break-in ride home (34 miles, gunning it and slowing down hard, varying the throttle the whole way). Got her home Thursday night and parked her.
Friday morning, warmed her up and changed the oil - put in Shell Rotella T Heavy Duty 15W-40. Went to change the gear oil - took off the drain bolt, no problem - the original gear oil looked kinda milky, like a caramel milkshake. Tried to take off the fill bolt, to assist with draining (and later re-filling), and the cheap s-o-b stripped right off, using a ratchet and then a 10mm wrench. Tried some WD-40 - still couldn't break it. Got some PB Blaster and a couple of Grab-It drill bits, and that didn't work either. Luckily, today, Northern Tools had a sale flyer in the Sunday paper - got an impact wrench for $12.99 and a set of metric sockets for $14.99! The impact wrench took it right off, first try. I filled the gear case with Valvoline 75W-90, and off I went!
It's gonna be hard for me to balance my need to maintain the warranty and my desire to tinker with the scooter!

Hey Otown,
What dealer did you get the scoot from?

Greetings from the possible future flight path of Tropical Storm Fay! We have an Orlando trip (caged, sigh) planned for late September! Boy, I hope this hurricane season isn't as bad as some of the recent ones. Or barring that, that you get it all over with before we show up. It's my understanding from reading these forums that many scooter owners, even of the manufacturers with real dealer support, do tinker quite a lot. As long as you are careful and keep good records of what is done, you should be okay.
