Hi, as some of you know, got an 88 jet and an unrestricted pipe and thinking about getting a free flow air filter. I need one that's 35mm I.D. to fit my carb and I want one that needs to be oiled because I already got that cleaner and oiler spray kit for my air box. It's hard to find! Anyway, this one looks about right but states it's for 4 strokes??? www.partsforscooters.com/107-1What's up with that? Any one have any suggestions?

As long as you get the correct size to fit your carb, there's no difference in 2 stroke and 4 stroke air filters. I like to use actual K&N filters, but you should use their oil for them. Here's one from summit racing with a 1.5" inside diameter (38.1mm)... tinyurl.com/5qagkpYou can also get those in 1 3/8" inside diameter (34.9mm) tinyurl.com/5jusrpUni Filiters are popular as well. They also like you to use their brand of oil. I honestly can't tell you if it matter what oil or not for air filters. I just buy what they recommend when I get the filter. Here's another generic type filter that will prob fit for less money. I've dealt with this guy before, he's pretty fast and cheap. Contact him if you wanna be sure of inside diameter. scooterparts4less.com/web_gas/4Stroke_Foam_airFilter.htm

Don't know about scoots, but on dirt bikes they are different. 4 stroke filters have a wire mesh screen inside. Supposed to be there in case of backfires, it wont light your air filter on fire.
