Anyone want to start a club who's around this area? We're smack dab in the middle of Chattanooga and Cookeville. Other area cities close to us (45 miles or less) include McMinnville, Spencer, Sparta, Soddy Daisy, and last but not least Dunlap (the hang-gliding capital of the east, or so the sign says).
We've got some great scenery around here. Cruising in Dunlap you can see the mountains on either side of you. Going up 111 towards Chattanooga has a very scenic pull-off just past Dunlap. You can also go 127 towards Chattanooga, not as good of a road but even more scenic. From the top of Cagle Mountain (the one just north of Dunlap) you can head on Hwy 8 towards McMinnville, there's some pretty views, and McMinnville is a decent sized town. If you head north on Hwy 111 instead, you can run by Fall Creek Falls. Lots of great views, hiking, camping, etc. available. Keep heading north and you run into Sparta just before you get to Cookeville.
If we did any rides, I'm guessing it'd be mostly restricted to 150cc and up, maybe even 250cc. Speed limit going up and down the mountains is either 55 or 60 (60 if you go south of Dunlap on 111, and 55 if you go north on 111), and is 65 on 111 at the top and bottom of the mountain going towards Chattanooga. It's a four-lane though, so no big deal if you drop a little below 55 going uphill (on 111 going north from Dunlap, you could go 40 and still pass a couple semis, it's pretty steep).
