I just bought my 1st scooter, a 2007 rattler with 2200 miles on it and need some info. I don't know any thing about it, or how to take care of it. The oil looks good, but is it a good idea to change it since I don't know how they took care of it? If so, what kind should I use? I live in AZ so its hot. The back brake seems soft and needs to be adjusted. Should I change out anything else? Anything else I need to do? Should I take it to the dealer for a check up? I just hate the idea of paying them! Any suggestions for a place to buy gear from?

the rattlers are cool, been wantin one of those. wish there were some used ones around here. I'm guessing its oil injected. just check out the tranny oil. find the plug on the left side.

hey Sun'
is it a 50cc or 100cc? the Ratts are 2 strokes so only the gear oil requires changing, but ya its a good idea to go ahead and change it start your service intervals from scratch (that way you know it's up to date).

I don't know what the other folks use in their 2's but I've had pretty good performance from Amsoil Synthetic's.

You have the envy of most 2-strokers in here.
As the dawgs said, go with a good full-synthetic on that nice motor.
