Hey everyone I'm brand new here and to scooters! I'm graduating from Nursing school in April and looking to find a scooter I could buy post graduation. I'm 6 foot 4 and about 280 pounds, I'm mostly considering higher cc scooters that I can use for around town commutes but can reach highway speeds for short trips <1hr at 70mph. Additionally I will probably have a second rider on occasion once I feel safe enough to do so. The only scooters I've looked into with any depth have been Vespas just because it is a known brand. Price, I'm not too concerned about since I plan to use my scoot as my primary transportation and my car only as necessary. Also I am interested in hybrids or other more fuel efficient models if they are available. Any suggestions or tips are most welcome. I look forward to all the advice and tips on this forum, and thanks in advance for those that go the extra mile for us newbies!

Hey sabriel, please check and see if you've got a SYM dealer nearby. Just saying so because I purchased one about 4 months ago and it's been problem free for over 1200 km so far. They are made in Taiwan and every bit as reliable as the Japanese and European scoots. For the size you're looking at I'd check the HD 200 or up cc wise. You also might check some of the used Japanese scoots like a Helix for what you're wanting. I've got a best bud that's getting one and I've heard it described as an easy chair that'll go 65 mph! ;D Hey, best of luck in your search and welcome to the Dawg Pound!!!
