Scooter newbie here from Clovis, CA.
Where the he** is Clovis you say? A suburb of Fresno. Where the he** is Fresno? In the Central Valley between SanFrancisco and Los Angeles. It's really on the map. No kidding!
Glad to join this great forum.
Bought a 2008 Roketa MC-54-250B scooter recently from County Motor Sports in Clovis. Has the big trunk. Enjoying every minute of it (well almost since there was some maintenance that needed to be done). Couldn't count on the local dealer to work on it anytime soon. They are too busy selling these scooters and doing the safety checks with "one" certified mechanic.
I really need to thank this forum for all the help and guidance I have received by reading all of your experiences regarding this particular Roketa 250cc scooter. Man, the information on this site is awesome.
The forums have helped solve a number of problems and answered a number of questions. The pics and the instructions were extremely helpful since the owners manual for my Roketa was only good for papering the bottom of my parrot's cage and there wasn't even enough to do that.
Anyway, thanks for all the help. Good people here.
Jim

Hey Jim,
Welcome aboard. Sounds like you were able to get a 54B that is CARB approved. Nice! I have been looking for that model that is CARB approved but it seems like you take your chances if you order it online. Was there a big price difference from in store from their online site?
I wouldn't mind driving to Clovis to ensure that the model wa CARB approved and the price was right.

Hi Jeff, Go to the County Motor Sports web site: www.countyimports.com/250cc_scooters___mopedsThis was the model I bought. I think all the scooters this business sells are CARB approved since the business is in California. Usually, the price is the same online and in the store. In my case they gave me a discount. They used to have a $50 discount coupon on their website, but I'm not sure if it is there anymore. They have raised the price to $ 2,399 since I bought mine. I got it for $2,000. With tax and setup fee and DMV fee, the total came to $2,350 out the door. Since I bought it at the dealer, they put it together, they did the safety check, the DMV paperwork, etc...I just got on and drove home. County Motor Sports is located at: 727 Clovis Avenue Clovis, CA 93612 Or their contact information page at their website is: www.countyimports.com/contact_us Hope this helps. Take care, Jim

Jeff,
One other thing about County Motor Sports. They have a bad habit of not answering the phones although they have a contact page. Maybe, since I bought my scooter, they have gotten better at this. I don't know.

Thanks Jim. Not a bad deal at all for a 250. Most of the Lance dealers around here want $2k for just the 150cc models. I like the body style of the 54 or 54B. Seems like County MS is the closest dealer to Sacramento I have found that carries these Roketa's.

My viva MP250RO YY250T came from county imports and I will have to say if you want to get them on the phone after you buy one for any reason just hit the sales button I have try ed every other way and I get them every time by doing so. When you get them do not let them give you another # to call they are all BS. Voice mails that are always full and never get returned. It is a shame After I bought mine I sent 3 other people to them and they cant even get there paperwork. They are hearing stuff like we sent it out it must have got lost in the mail and I would believe that if it was not happening to each and every one of the people that I sent there.

The person to contact would be Gordon at County Motorsports. Best way to get to him is through email.
gordon@hensimdealers.com
When I was having problems getting through on the phone, I took a chance and emailed Gordon of dealer sales. He got right on the matter and resolved it.

I reminded Gordon of their core values and stated the company didn't appear to be run like they are saying. Remind these folks of their core values:
County Motorsports Core Values:
* In distributing a product that is safe and on the cutting edge of technical sophistication in our target market. * That people should be treated as we like to be treated, and this applies to our employees, their families, our customers and their customers. This includes being responsive and responsible to our customers' needs and concerns. * That a successful independent business is the backbone of our great nation, and that our success is dependent on the success of our customers. * County Motorsports and its employees act in a professional and conscientious manner at all times. * That County Motorsports will stand by all its warranties and guarantees and demonstrate goodwill, character and integrity.
This could help if anyone is having problems.

Hi Jim!
And welcome to the pound!!
I have been on this site for a while, and everyone is great. If you ever have a question, we're all willing to help out!
However, I have a question for you.....
You have the 54B model as well. My sis and I are having HELL getting our paperwork to register ours. Roketa says thry are not CARB even though the plates all say they are.
My question: Would you be willing to provide the first part of your VIN# so I can check yours against ours?
It would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you Jim!
Yours is the same as ours! I just don't understand what the problem is.....
According to BH Motors, our vin#'s are not listed as CA Legal!
Go figure!

Nicki,
When I got the scooter, Jesse of County Motorsports said they were having trouble with the DMV and the VIN. Jesse said he had been in touch with the DMV and there was a problem with the VIN. Somehow, he got it straightened out and it was registered and got the license.
I really don't know what they did but as long as it was registered and everything went through ok, I'm going to take it and run.
Seems to me that BH Motors should be helping you with this since they sold it to you or did you get it delivered?
Hope you get this straightened out.
Take care,
Jim
