As the scoot only has 91 miles on it I am a little concerned about fuel. It is ready for it's first fill up. Ex son-in-law had lost all the paperwork on the scoot. As I recall, he was saying that even though it is oil injected that during break-in he was supposed to use a gas/oil mix. Does this make sense? And for how long?

it just means add in the 2 stroke oil ... and gas separate .. almost all the newer 1s have a auto mix , runs about 50.1 ... if you add oil to the gas and then whats already being mixed it wont run right and prob foul your plugs

I would suspect that a 2005 (and yes it only has 91 miles on it) would be considered a newer one. Will tell her to just scoot down and fill it with premium then. Thanks for the reply.

Remember, the premium fuel does not ignite as fast as regular, If your concerned abut the break-in you could add an ounce of two stroke oil to the fuel tank before the fill up, this will add lubrication to all of the tight fitting parts, make more smoke, but not needed.
