While riding in my "cage", I find myself often playing defensive end for any bike or scoot I come across... I usually nestle into a nice place between them and all other traffic, and keep the crazies at bay, esp with my big huge work van, noone wants to tangle with that thing..

I can't say I try and shield them from other traffic, but I certainly try to remain aware of their location relative to me more than I used to. Having been invisible to cars before, I know it sucks.

Interesting, i haven't tried that, but I like to use the other vehicle as a blocker on my left when crossing intersections. So if some moron runs the light they T-bone the other vehicle and not me.

I do the same with bicycles on the road.

I have found myself holding back a greater distance since I now know how it feels if somone is riding too close. Usually only lasts until someone cuts into the space.

Yeah, I found myself doing that, esp. if I see some idiot cager around. I'll run block for them til they're on their way. I have done it for a long time 'cause I would want someone else to do it for me.

Before I started riding I would try and pass a 2 wheeler as quick as possible (in case they fall off I dont want to be the one to run them over) but now that I ride I too play D for them.
I also use cagers as my wall when crossing intersections.
