I am so glad i found this site! the info here is invaluable. my head is so full of info my hair hurts! LOL
here is my issue. I am going to buy my first scooter to be used primarily to run around town close to the house (within about a 15 mile radius). I have really taken a liking to the Kymco 150 Bet & Win. The only one the dealer has is a 2007. It is brand new and I can get it for $2500 out the door. I have also looked at the Suzuki 150 and am going to look at the Kymco people 200cc this week. I like the motorcycle sports look much better than the scooter/Euro look. I need to be able to keep up on the access roads of the freeways here and maybe move on the freeways for about 3-4 exits. I am really looking at this for the speed and gas mileage, so I have settled on the 150cc. Hopefully that is the correct size for my needs...
Can anyone give me their thoughts on these scoots and if they feel the $3500 out the door price for the Bet & Win (which is not offered by Kymco after the 2008) is a good deal or a rip off.
Any other brands I should look at? Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I drove a 150 and liked it until I drove a 257 (MC 54 250B). It really seems to make a difference. It's top speed should be about 75 - with 100 miles - I've had it to 60 and there seems to be plenty of throttle left. My first gas check was 68mpg. Hold out for a 2008 if you can, there seems to be some improvements over 07s. Don't be afraid of the Chinese scoots - you have to be part mechanic and part dare devil - but it's worth it. Good luck!

Hey, THANKS soonerscooter! should i plan on changing the oil filters and fuel lines before i drive it off the lot or should the dealer do that at no cost? I cannot find a 2008 anywhere and I can't see the significant difference. could you elaborate on the improvements? The feel of the Bet & Win seems so much more robust than the Kymco people 200. I really don't need to go over 60-65 mph with this scoot for the time being.

I've been looking at scooters since 2006 and I've seen improvements in overall quality. For the Chinese scooters to have survived the last couple of years indicates that they are getting better. I know that the DOT has added requirement to 08s like better gas lines, that are required. If you're near a brick and mortar dealer it gives you a better chance to get service and information.
