I figured I would jump on here and talk with everyone and possibly answer any questions you guys might have. We are a local Chicago Area business that has been selling scooters for about 2 years, we finally got to the realization and started a Ecommerce site. I love reading through forums like these just too see what people have to say and more to see some of the technical issues going on. Not only do we sell these scooters we service them. I feel that we take the extra step from the beginning to make sure there is no issues in the future.

With the boom of scooters there is a MASS amount of "Scooter Dealers" you don't know who to trust and you dont know who to buy from but you want the best bargain. I should say just watch out! About 80% of these "Dealers" never see the product thats why 9 times out of 10 you aren't allowed to pick up, because they are just the middle man making money. With this boom the delay has went up 10 fold in the matter of the past weeks/month. On average our scooter deliveries are taking about 12-14 days to get to the buyer if we dont have them in stock here. Its hard right now to keep anything in stock because of the soring gas prices to be honest.

Well I just wanted to jump on here and introduce myself and let everyone know from the back end of whats going on. Most scooters are coming from the same manufactures in China and are all around good scooters. We just like to put a few miles on ours then recheck everything. Being a Avid Harley Guy and Mechanic I think it helped me better in this field to look out for some of the stuff that other guy might not catch.

So if at all you guys have any questions please let me know. This is a great board and a great idea! Hopefully soon down the line you will be hearing from us with some "Hefty Performance Upgrades" for our scooters, because being a Gearhead, Fast is never Fast enough!

Welcome to the dawg pound tony@Amp, etc.!!! Glad to have another dealer with us! There is a specific area on the site (I think) just for you guys that are 'in the biz'. Not that you can't play in this sandbox too, the other place I believe is mostly for you dealer types to 'talk shop'. You might find some good contacts there as well. Your contribution and wise words are always welcome, just make yourself at home like the rest of us dawgs!

I am trying to start something in the north east, Boston, MA to be specific. Any advise you could give? I want to sell them on site and service them as well. How do I get a supplier, how many do I have to buy do get the best deal, what size cc's sell the most, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

well ampmopeds welcome. but if you're in chicago, boston wouldn't be competition especially as they want to be a B&M, like you. Jermaine 321, just read some of the boards, there's been lots of talk, and most of us dawgs will help you. also go to the websites of the distributors. but go to local motor vehicles first to find out what you need to be a dealer. most distributors won't deal with you unless you have a dealers license. good luck
