As most of you know its hard to keep the windshield tight on the 250B at least is is on mine. The little brass inserts kept working their way back through the rubber grommet.
Well I had been thinking how to keep it tight, and I had a brain storm. I went to Harbor Freight today to find some plastic plugs that you use to hang pictures in sheet-rock, the kind that expands when you put a screw in them, Found a box that had 501 pieces for around $9.00 so i bought them. When I got home I removed the windshield and got took the brass inserts out of the grommets and found a size that would work in the grommet, it turned out to be the smallest one, blue in color. I tried the small screw for it but would not tighten enough, then I went for the largest screw in the box. Had to hold the fastener a little till the screw started into it,, but once it started it tightened up pretty good, seems real solid now, I used the rubber washers also so it could move a little. Took it for a short ride and all seems good. will know more tomorrow seeing how i will be going on a longer ride.
When i told my wife where I was going she went with me, shes liking the ride more each day, I had to buy her a new helmet last week also. Got her one like mine a Vega summit II modular. My Son got it for me for $73.00 and its $120,00 at the shop he works at, its good to know someone to get better prices on when you are on a fixed income.
Hope this helps someone a little, Have a nice ride
