Looking for a club in New Jersey and also would like to know if there is a basic rider course in the state just for scooter riders. I don't want to bother with learning how to shift. I've got a Burgman 400. It's my first bike.

Rudyscoot, I've not heard about a basic rider's course in NJ just for scoots, but you can take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course on your Burgman 400. I no longer have anything on the local places you can take this course but almost any bike shop will have something on them. It's VERY important to take this course. VERY important. You'll learn how to handle a 2-wheeler the correct way. Don't know of any clubs as I ride the back-country farm roads at slow speeds just for enjoyment on my 2006 Kymco People 250.

I have noticed scooter coming more popular here in central jersey. With the price of as now a days it still beats riding your bike. which i do right now till my scoot gets here.
