I've read that 150cc Stella's are slow, but I've also read that 100cc Delfino is a "rocket ship." I don't get it. Why is the bigger engine scoot slower? But, the speedo gauge on the Delfino does go up to 80 MPH. Can the Delfino really be a "rocket ship" with only 100cc?
Stella 150cc
Daelim Delfino 100cc
And anyone know the 0-45 times?

I don't know about the Delfino, but I have a Stella. The biggest problem with the Stella is the built in restriction on new models. The stock exhaust has a catalytic converter and the air filter has this second stage blue goop on it, both of these restrict air flow. Most Stella owners get them through break in, dump the stock exhaust for a sito+ pipe, de-blue the air filter, and upjet to a 101 or 102 main jet. Some even get rid of the bellows and just slap a unifilter on the carb. I'm sure there are differences in weight. The Delfino has a frame with plastic body parts where the Stella has a pressed steel monocoque frame and side covers. Maybe the Delfino doesn't have the same EPA restrictions due to engine size. I do know comparing the Stella to my 150cc GY6 JM Star is like comparing apples and oranges. The Stella has a clutch and transmission, the GY6 has a CVT. The Stella is more comfortable to ride and handles better than the GY6, but I did not get the performance from the 2 stroke engine I expected and it cost considerably more than the GY6. The CVT is much nicer in stop and go city traffic than the manual trans, but the Stella is fun on the back roads. They both haul my 200+ pounds around at about the same speed and get there in about the same amount of time. Neither of them are rocket ships and our local B&M that sells Daelim tells me that the Delfino is "fast for it's size".
