Hi. I'm new here and have found a ton of useful info. Thanks to everyone. I am asking these questions for a friend that was going to order a scooter online from scooterdepot.us. I saw that some ppl said good things...some ppl said bad things. That's expected. I also saw that one person had must have been a certified mechanic to do all the stuff he did to prep his scooter. Do you have to do all those things to the scooter to ride it? I understand they say you have to tighten bolts and screws and put mirrors on. Is there major things that have to be done to each scooter delivered?
Thanks for any input..I greatly appreciate it. I don't want my friend to make an expensive mistake.

An expensive mistake: Ordered three scooters, MC_u1506 from scooterdepot on 6\9. They charged my cc $3,747. On 6/11 the scooterdepot shipping department called to tell me that they could not send the scooters ordered to any California destination( their website still, 6/26, says that the scoot is CA legal). We could not find any other scooters we liked so we canceled the order on 6/12. They said they could not put the money back on the credit card and had to send us a check. We got a call on 6/19 from someone at scooterdepot that was sending the check. Over a week later and no check thus far. They are in Southern CA and I live in San Jose....A blind burro would have got it here by now if they had sent it! With $3747 made unavailable, it hurt to order our scoots from another dealer. (All while we are trying to save money on gas) We ordered 3 Lance GSR 150s from Kevin at motorxtremes.com and feel much better now with our quality scoots on order with a reliable vendor. Good luck with your friends scooter purchase. rtl

When you get that check...............(if )
take it directly to the bank that the check is written through! I read a post on another site where someone had sent a refund by check, the guy deposited it and the sucker bounced!!!
Be very careful! If you take it in, they can tell you if funds are available or not and can tell you propper action for getting payment!

Notify your credit card company immediately and contest the charge when it appears on your statement. Its good you used a credit card and did not send a check. Good luck

They have a fraud department that will flag any future activity from their clientel that try to purchase from them. In the end might make them thing twice about screwing up someone elses finances. Thanks mom23(Shawn) and hbcpa1! Called my bank, I actually used a BofA atm/debit card, and told them what had happened. They immediately put $3,747 back into my account. They said that the money was put back in the account temporarily until their investigation is complete. the wrench in my gut has loosened up! megansm1975 I wanted to like scooterdepot because I liked their website, the inexpensive scooters and what they said about customer satisfaction and how they wanted return business. What they say is not trustworthy and I would not recommend them or their scooters to anyone. Our 3 new Lance GSR 150s will be delivered on Thursday!! We paid $300+ more each for the scoots compared to those at scooterdepot. The Lance quality and the reliability of motorxtremes.com thus far makes my family feel much more confident about our scootering future. Can't wait to get in the wind! rtl

Read the thread "new pup" and you'll see $1379 for a 150cc and my experience so far. It's meant to help others.
I hope you have a good scooter experience!
