50cc stroke 1100 trouble free miles ... dealer cut the wire on the back of cdi , does 42mph verified ... when it hits 42 it wont go any faster at all... ton of throttle left , today i pulled the exhaust off nothing in the pipe no washers or anything else .. looked clean , i also drilled a few holes around the outlet , sounded a little diff but still stuck at 42 .. my only other thoughts maybe theres a washer behind the variator .. bad thing is i cant even start to turn the screws holding the cover on ... im stuck on the idea of a washer in there is holding me back ... what do you guys think??? thanks J

I'm pretty sure there's a washer between the variator halves on that model. Here's a French Dawg who'll show you how to get rid of it on a Yamaha C3: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa5fEnu7kWYBut hey, 42 mph ain't bad. I need to be going down a big hill to hit 42. Does your exhaust have any other pipes coming off of it before it hits the muffler? Have you looked into a free flow air filter and a bigger main jet?

What year is your Beamer? Have you already eliminated the electronic limiter?

I should elaborate... My 2005 E-Ton Beamer Matrix had a red wire going across the CDI, that limited top speed, by means of electronic governing. Once this was cut, top speed became, needless to say unlimited, lol! Mine will hit and maintain 44-45mph tops (verified by GPS). Downhill, I have run it at 65-67mph (about a 9% downhill grade, and full tuck).

Then there is no more derestriction to be done. You know have to modify. This means airfilter, carb jet, and exhaust to start, then variator tweaking, followed by an 80 cc cylinder kit. There is one around here with all but the cylinder kit and it passed me and I was doing 55 in my van. Guy on it was light though maybe 140 pounds. Local E-ton guy up here is Phil Reid www.reidscycle.com shoot him an E-mail he might have a suggestion. He is swamped though and may not be able to respond. Aaron

what is the recommended up-jet size for the 49cc 2 strokes? I've heard they don't do good with over an 88 but also heard someone using a 110 and getting unreal speed. State your make and model and someone will chime in to help.
