Since the 4-stroke crowd is biased, I ask the following question in this forum.
How do the two scoots (a 110cc 2-stroke and a 170cc 4-stroke) compare in terms of the following?
(1) 0-45 acceleration (2) top speed (3) exhaust noise (4) handling (5) built quality
The rattler is $1000 more, but I like idea of a simple 2-stroke.

The Rattler is likely highly restricted to pass emissions. That said the Strada in stock form will be faster but the Rattler can be made faster with an intake, pipe, and rejet. The Rattler will be a better built scooter as Genuines stuff is all top notch. I like the idea of the Rattler too.

Will derestricting make the exhaust noisy? My home owners association will hassle me about it if it's too noisy, not to mention loosing my hearing.

Won't be any noisier than a 2 stroke dirt-bike, and thats not to bad. It'll be quieter than alot of tuner cars. My E-Ton Beamer's derestricted, and I didn't notice any drastic increases in noice, just a few decibels.

I wanted to add that with proper upgrades, the Rattler will rip anything lower than maybe 400-500 ccs on a short drag. A 110cc 2 stroke scooter isn't a put-put machine, and if it was given a good pipe, big carb, race reeds, etc it would fly (maybe literally).

How long is a "short drag"?
Bad news. The Rattler is sold out everywhere. There's a 3 month back order at the nearest dealer.

after test riding the rattler it made me sad... that i owned a 4-stroke! seriously... i agree with ireland, a 2-stroke rattler with mods will smoke most, if not all, 4-stroke scooters.

Well, by a short drag, I'm meaning 100 yards or so... A Rattler built up with mods would kill any scoot having a 4 stroke motor, as well as many motorcycles. For example, a well built and tuned Kymco Super 9(or better yet, a Italjet, or Aprilla 50) is a fantastic drag machine, and will decisively beat 150's and 250's within 100 yards. A built Rattler could/would do the same to anything less than a Super-Sport bike, and would probably shame muscle cars. Actually, you could win alot of bets against unknowing people by dropping a line like "wanna race against my little scooter?". lol

www.zdenterprises.net/ Has one in stock. I test rode the 110 and was very impressed with it, I had a problem deciding which to buy, The 150 or the rattler, I knew which ever-one I got I would want the other but being 6'1" the rattler had a draw back. Scootworks has a tuned pipe and a bigger jet for the 110. In stock form the 150 will pass the Rattler 110. The seat on the Rattler is better than the Diamo 150, two strokes are cool but if you have people riding behind you they won't like you after a mile ;D I found the Rattler to be a more solid machine, If it were just a tad longer and had better looking wheels I would have bought it.

I have a Honda Aero 125 2-stroke, and it's by far the most fun compared to any bike except my Vespa 250GTS, which has twice the displacement. The Rattler sounds like a lot of fun.

Hey does anyone know if you can swap out the controls from the PGO version to the Rattler. I really like the looks of the PGO controls compared to the Rattler.
