I am a bit undecided about the vendor. I am trying my best to be patient with regards to delivery and objective about the service provided.
A history of the order:
I originally sent a few emails to County Motorsports based on a few questions that came up after reading this most informative website. Thanks fellow Dawgs! I didn't hear back from them, but felt well enough informed to place my order.
I placed my order with Rich's assistance. I ended up placing it via the web after I asked a few questions about the machine. I ordered a Red MC 54 250B. I wish that whoever sells these on line would actually just publish the manufacturer, but that is an aside. Rich mentioned that according to the web advertisements and his knowledge of the inventory that they were in stock and he didn't foresee an error with the delivery times. If there would have been a problem with inventory, I was more than willing to make another choice. The order was placed on 6/10.
My account was debited on 6/13 and I received an order confirmation on 6/10/08 and a payment processing email the following day.
On 6/18 and again on 6/19 I sent emails understanding to make the delivery times they would probably need at least a 3 day window for all parties concerned. I also left accompanying emails requesting just a status update.
On my third call I did reach someone in sales who researched it for me. He mentioned that the BOL was prepared and they were waiting for the shipment from the manufacturer. This troubled me a little for when I placed the order; the sales representative mentioned that this wasn't an issue. I must admit maybe I am a little bit of a victim of the limited edition and only 15 left advertisement. Upon a little more digging he said that it was in transit according to the customer service / order tracking agent. I won't mention any names as this isn't an attack on anyone. At this time I am just reporting my experiences without any emotion hopefully to shed some light on some procedural issues or expectation issues.
I did receive an email follow up informing me that the wait for scooters is now greater than 21 days. I did appreciate the follow up as I am willing to ride the process out, if I believe that they are trying to do the right thing.
Tomorrow will be 2 business weeks since the order was placed and I still haven't heard anything with regards to a new ETA or revised shipping date. I am still patiently awaiting some additional information.
If I am to take the 21 day delivery model as the new ETA, my new delivery time will be July 1st. Further extrapolating the title and licensing process of 10 days. I hope to be registered by the 15th of July. I must admit it seems a bit long on the sales side, but I would love to hear from other board members on their experience.
As a side note, I did listen to a voicemail of the documentation department. It seems that their might be a single point of failure as no one is able to process MSO's or Bill of Sales for a couple of weeks. This I mention as an aside if anyone else is awaiting this documentation. Although if you placed an order today, I don't think it would be an issue.
A couple of final thoughts. I do understand business growth and I love to see companies grow and thrive especially during this economy and wish, those that are doing well the very best.
I think that there should be a bit of consolidation in this business vertical. I think this will lead to better dealers and less fly by night operations. Providing the consumer a reasonable response and customer service although internet purchases operate on a bit of a different sales and service model.
I hope that others find this post helpful and I will update it with all future actions.
I did just finish my Motorcycle Safety Foundations class this past weekend and riding again, really has me itching to get out there on the streets again.
Respectfully submitted,
