MadMan: Thanks for the reply. I went to the repair shop today to pick up my scoot. The owner and mechanic want to keep it a few more days! They aren't ready to admit defeat! I mentioned the ScootDawg website and this forum; maybe they'll be able to help me after all! I'm going away for a long weekend (Oklahoma, here I come!), so I'll check back with them on Tuesday when I return. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again, SoftballMom

I am happy to say I found someone to give me private lessons. Sunday was the first and it was awesome. Next lesson will actually be on surface streets.

does anyone have a 250b..i would like to know if anyone knows what to do when the screws are stripped. and is there only one spark plug

Post by madmanjustice on Aug 12, 2008 22:51:26 GMT -5
yes, there is only one spark plug. removing stripped screws can be a pain, and how to remove them really depends on where they are located and how bad they are stripped. something like this can be used (for the record i have not tried one of these) www.getgrabit.com/Default.asp?tcode=asp3&bhcp=1

thanks does the screws have to be removed to change the spark plug?

Post by kraziedn on Aug 17, 2008 9:42:54 GMT -5
there's no screw to remove to change out the spark plug....you need to pull out the spark plug wire which has the black plastic cap and unscrew the spark plug...

How is everyone doing after IKE. Did you make trough all right? I am between Houston and Katy, Tx. We lost power and water. We had some damage but not bad. This morning we got up to rising water and again the power went out. Luckily when the rain slowed down so the water went back down and the power just came back on again. Just wonted to check in on everyone.
Keep on Scooting and be carefull

Ok, just picked up a Burgman 400 - can go anywhere in H-town now with no issues in dealing with highway traffic. Who's up for some scootin'? Tom

Why, it's the Lone Star Rally of course. It was originally scheduled for the first part of November, but as many other things Ike postponed it a bit. Here's the link: www.lonestarrally.com/The forecast looks much better. The lows start out that way, but the highs are suppose to be in the 60's with no chance of rain. Let's get something together - show scooter strength. Tom

Thanks MadmanJustice for the link to this thread - I was hunting around for Houston folks in the forum - more here than I realized. I am the ultimate Newbie - got my SYM Fiddle II 125 BEFORE getting the license (so playing around the block while waiting for my course and license test). As soon as I can though, would like to join a drive/meet-up with others in the Southwest / Sugar Land area. Any other dawgs interested?

Looking for any Houston / Sugar Land recommendations for Motorcycle Safety Courses in the area. Both my wife and I need to take the course - and we prefer to study on scooters (because this is all we'll drive, but open to other thoughts). Really getting tired of just riding the neighborhood and want to get legal ASAP.
THANKS!
