Pearland here, I have a Tank Touring 150, but looking to upgrade soon. I'd be thrilled to see the Roketa 250s. So Toys 4 less has scoots? - I've never heard of them, any place else in the Houston area I need to know about? Keep me off the highways here and I'm in. Tom

I went by T4L today - good prices. How's the service - if any of you guys/girls that have bought from there have had any work done yet - I've done everything on my Tank (and as Tanks go, could probably use some now), but if they give a year warranty, it would be good to know.

I was there a couple of weeks ago when Dino was ordering his, and they told us that only one of the MC54s they had sold came back in with a problem, and that was that the owner had put oil in the cooling system. They flushed and refilled the system. I have done all my own service, but I have been waiting for a couple of parts to come in. (nothing that keeps me from riding) just hit 1000 miles yesterday.

OK ScootDawgs of Houston - There's a place just south of the Beltway on Hwy 35 in Pearland called Scooters. It's a beer and burger place (those under 21 are allowed - it's a family beer and burger place - lol). How about we get together sometime soon so that some of the details of some type of scootin' club can be worked out.
I would love nothing more than to cruise to Huntsville State Park and plan out a "cook-out in the park" type thing, but that would be a heck of a trip on a 150, esp. from the southside. I plan on getting a 250 or higher, but it ain't happening anytime soon - @ 3K in furniture to buy first.
Also, my wife continuously proves to me - there are some gems in the Houston area that would make for an interesting day ride to visit - you just have to look for them.
Any suggestions - I'm trying. Tom

That is quite a trek for me since I am way north and west, but we might drive there in the cage.
I also had a wreck this past weekend. Scoot is fine, but I hurt my knee pretty bad. Doc said no scootin for a while. I have a tear from my medial cartlidge to the patella and a bleeding tear in the ligament. Basically, a lot of pain, but nothing can be done about it, just time!
Let us know when!

Anyone near Pasadena willing to give riding lessons two hours, Sat or Sun mornings between 8 and 10? I'm offering $20/hr. I have my learners permit but must have someone at least 21 with a valid motorcycle license within sight. I can't take the heat so I must wait to take MSF until it cools off (a bunch) but I don't want to just look at my scooter while the battery dies. This is a dream of mine...please someone help it come true.

What kind of scooter do you have?

I have a Fly 150 and can't wait to be riding. I've been dreaming that I'm scooting around and it feels so free and easy but the reality is I know I need instruction. The one time I've tried I realized it's just not as easy as riding a bike like everyone said. It has some similarity...true. You're on two wheels and you have hand brakes. From there it's as different as driving the little old cars they had as Astroworld around the track and driving a real car on the freeway.
I really appreciate your offer of driving across town if I can't find someone local. Hopefully someone will turn up near me but if not and you are truly willing...well...I really want to learn. LOL

pennyante, have you found anyone to give you scooter lessons yet. Depending on the availability of a parking lot, I might be able to give it a go. Do you live on the North or South side of Pasadena? (Closer to 225 or 45/Dobie HS?) Nobody should be without their scoot.

Aladinbama...have not found an instructor yet. I'm around the 225/Red Bluff area. If your game...do you want me to email you? Naturally it will have to be after Edouard. Hope everyone gets through unscathed.

Spring, TX (Louetta and Kuykendahl) and hi everyone! I bought my scoot (JMSTAR JSB-150P) online from place in CA in June and haven't been able to ride my scoot because I don't know how to get it to start consistently and stay running. I know NOTHING about engines, etc. I thought "fully assembled" meant I just had to put on the mirrors, charge and install the battery, put gas in the tank and go! Silly me!
I didn't find the ScootDawg website and forum before I bought my scoot; now I know I bit off way more than I can chew mechanically. I've read most of the posts in the various forums but I'm a visual learner and need someone to show me how to do things.
Is there anyone willing to help me get her up and running? I'll pay for parts and labor and can bring my scoot anywhere that's convenient. I've taken the Basic Rider Course, bought a helmet and a ramp (so I can put my scoot in the truck and take her anywhere), but I can't get her to run. Right now I have a bright red door stop!
Once I get her running, I'd love to get together. I can even offer to pick up anyone and their scoot and drive to a meeting location and ride from there.
Thanks for any help you can give me. Hopefully, I'll be out on the road soon.

Hi softballmom! Sorry your having scoot problems.
Spring huh? wow, we have Houston surrounded. Too bad we all are not closer together, then we could all meet, work on your scoot and give pennyante riding lessons.
we haven't forgotten about you pennyante!
softballmom, if your shop can't help you out, you might want to contact Bor Motorsports, i think he is in Tomball and should be familiar with the china scoot motors.

Thanks Madmanjustice...I went out the garage and cranked him up and let him run a bit. I don't want the batter to go dead and he has been sitting a couple weeks now. I don't know if just letting the engine run while sitting still is good enough but it's all I can do right now.
Some people tell me to just get on and ride but I have several reasons why I won't without lessons. 1. I don't want to get hurt, 2. I don't want to hurt my scooter and 3. My permit states that I must have a licensed motorcyclist, 21 or over with me while riding and I am a stickler about obeying the law.
