Anyone know of some dealers of cheap china scooters in Houston? I'm just trying to find a place to go sit on one and see how it fits.

Toys For Less on Harwin is a Roketa Dealer. Harwin Powersports (right next door) is a SunL dealer.

Toys for Less is right next to Harwin Powersports? D'oh! I used my lunch break to stop by HP only to find out they only were selling Hi-Bird, and didn't have any scooters until next week. And that the salesman told me they didn't sell Sunl because it was inferior and a different brand and would be like selling Honda and Toyota together. I would have no reason to disbelieve him except last Thursday I called and asked which Sunl's he had in stock and he told me two different ones. Thanks for the heads-up on the Roketa. According to Rich, Roketa, Sunl, and Jonway are all the same bikes from JMStar. At least as of recently.

hmmm...I don't think you were at Harwin Powersports.
The Hi-Bird (whos name escapes me at the moment) dealer is closer to Fondren. Toys For Less and Harwin Powersports are further east towards Hillcroft.
I have only ever seen a couple of scoots at the Hi-Bird dealer, usually they just have motorcycles and atv's.

Right you are. I was in the wrong place yesterday. I went to both places today and both had nice scooters for the lowest price I've seen anywhere for these. $900 for the Roketa Fiji (sc-04) at HP and $850 for the sc-26 at T4L. Including alarm and trunk.

The nice thing about T4L is that when you pick up your scooter from them, it has a paper dealer tag on it and they take care of the registration (just like a car dealer) and you will get your title and plates in the mail a couple of weeks later. They are nice guys there but on Saturday mornings, the place is insane and they are just blowing out inventory. They are the local Roketa distributor so just about anyone else in the Houston area selling Roketa's gets them from T4L. They told me that my scoot will have 12 month warranty on the motor/trans (6 months from Roketa and 6 months from T4L). When i talked to them on Monday, they had 4 preorders (with deposits) for MC-54s, mine and 3 others. I'll be going by again tomorrow afternoon to confirm that my scoot is there. If you knoiw what you want and they don't have it in stock, they will be able to tell you how quick they can get one, but you will have to put down a deposit to guarantee it.

Yeah, I probably do have them backwards. Good thing they're neighbors. Thanks for the heads up on the dealers. I have to find some way to change my wife's perception of me being a crazy driver first. That's going to be tough. You've saved me some cash and DMV headaches though.

glad to help. There are a couple of other places on Harwin that sell atvs and such but I have not checked them out since T4L could get what I wanted at a good price.
