ok fellows just recieved my new MC-54-250B scooter.
so far so good. it came out of the crate looking great.
checked all nuts bolts and anything that had a fastener.
oil was good, grease was good, coolant was good.
added gas and it started on the 3rd try.
have been running it in my complex whaile waiting for the mco and bill of sale. so far it is running very good.
i will try to get some pics up this weekend.

Welcome to the "Dawg Pound"! Congratulations on your new scoot. The MC-54 is a really great looking machine. Keep us posted on your experience with it and be certain to read the many posts on the board for the MC-54s.

bought it thru powersportsmax.com and so far they have been pretty good. scoot came by the time they specified and i had called a couple of times and they answered the phone. i will keep everyone posted on there reliability, but so far so good.

I've had my MC 54 for about a month. I had the fuel starvation problem and heating when I ran it over 40 or uphill. i replaced all the fluid with NAPA top quality and also replaced the fuel lines and the vaccum pump with the Mr. Gasket 12S. that solved all my problems. Rode on two 40 mile trips, cruising at 50-55 and 60 at times. I have also ran it up to 65, but didn't want to push it. I do have 300 kilometers on it.

jennings,
i havent done anything so far but ride it in my complex, i will have my mco on monday so i can get tags and run it a little faster on the main streets. so far i have put 40 problem free miles on it. it sat for 3 days and when i went out to start it, it fired right up first try. mine is the mc-54-250b which has the yahaha clone engine in it, what motor is in yours??

Jennings, my MC 54 has the trip meter and odometer in miles. Are you sure yours is in kilometers?

hey showme mine is in mph and miles also. so far so good, have 78 miles on it so far and its still running great -(cross my fingers) so hopefully i will have my tags in the next few days and gewt it out on the highways. changed the oil at 50 miles and put some good shell rotella 15w40 in it. man that oil that came in it made my eyes water whew!!!!!

Scoot, let me ask you a few questions. What kind of motor do you have on your bike? How big are the wheels/tires? I ask because, the website says your bike has the Linhai (Yamaha) motor, 13" wheels and a 59" wheelbase. I have been told that the 13" wheel was not an option with the 59" wheelbase. If you got your bike for $1,7XX.00 you got a great deal but my guess is that you probably have 12" wheels, a CF Moto engine and 59" wheelbase. . . I mean no offense to you, brother. You never claimed to the contrary. It just ticks me off that the Chinese manufacturers, distributors and internet marketeers are SOOOO truth impaired. I don't care how good a deal is, I was raised to give the facts . . . to do otherwise is just WRONG. Anyway, you got a great deal if your bike is running well. nope its the 257 cc motor, its lieing straight out-forard that is.
the wheels are 13 inch 130x60-13teens. i wanted to make sure i got the lihai motor. the one you are looking at has the cf moto engine in it. i got my tags today and it is running great already put 160 plus miles on it. i noticed that all the radiator hoses have stainless hose clamps on them not wire clips.
well will be riding it to work tomorrow for the first time.
will keep you guys updated as i ride it.

The Linhai engine/drive train can be equipped with either 13" rims and low profile 13" (F&R 130x60-13") tires or 12" rims with slightly higher profile 12" (F= 110x90-12", R= 130x70-12") tires. In the 12" and 13" sizes, the tallest tire I have seen is the 4:00x12". That tire is about 1" taller than a low profile 13" tire.

scooterollie is right, mine has the low profile 13" tires-kenda's. they hold the road pretty good.
i have had the scoot to 60 mph so far and its still running good. by the way i am 6'2" and 240 lbs. and my girlfriend is 5'10" and 170 lbs. and it has easily gotten to 60 mph with both of us on board. no fuel starvation problems yet, but i havent wound her all the way out yet. need a few more miles before i do that. i am liking this scooter more and more, 200 plus miles and counting.

Been gone and busy and sorry I didn't answer sooner. Looks like others had the answers. My former scooter was a Honda and the Motorcycle before that a Honda, so I am new to working on them. I am still not certain what engine I have. I have thought it was the honda clone by the vertical cylinder orientation and the exhaust. i am pretty sure it is registering on the trip and permanent odometer in kilometers. My speedo and gauges look just like the pics on ealier honda refles (2002) from ebay pics. My scoot looks like yours. Has 13" wheels front and rear. Has a Gates drive belt. The Radiator and hoses appear to be top quality. The rad is aluminum with electric fan fully schrouded. I replaced my gas lines because the stock were very low quality (like vacumn lines). I am planing to order a kawasaki vacumn fuel pump and test it. I just put a new vacumn pump on my kawasaki mule. This will eliminate the constant clicking of the electric pump and the current drain. I also plan to replace the battery. I am going to get the seat padded and recovered during the winter for more comfort. The power and ride otherwise iis good. Good luck and enjoy your ride. jennings it does sound as though you have the cf moto engine, also mine does read in mph and miles. let us know about your new fuel pump and how it turns out.

My trip and odometer are in miles. I road to a meeting today 41 miles each way over WV hills. It registered 80 miles. It is running good with the Mr. Gasket 12S fuel pump, but the clicking and the battery drain are a concern. Also I put a 12S on my Kawasaki Mule because it was also having fuel starvation problems and the new pump was slow to arrive. I only got about 20 hours out of the pump and it died. Fortunately I had the new vacumn pump and tools with me. The harsh riding terain may have caused the early failure. Don't know. I want to try the Kawasaki fuel pump on the scoot and see how it performs. I now have 480 miles on my Roketa, now more heating problems or fuel starvation. The battery is very weak and I have needed a jump start 3 times. I have removed the radio and no longer use the alarm. I have the pump on a switch direct from battery, because the wiring is a little scaring to splice into. I'll let you know how the Kawasaki fuel pump performs. Enjoy your ride.

ok i am having my first problem, my turn signals and head lights quit working. the instument lights and the brake light is still working. i will look under the windshield, upper instrument cover this evening-i am thinking a plug came loose as it is running fine and this just happened all at once. anyone else have this problem on their mc-54-250B???

Check the connections under the fuse box too. Sometines the connectors push out the bottom of the box.

on my scoot the fuse box is under the seat. You may have to hunt for yours. There are several fuses.

It helps others if you list info. about your scoot so it shows up in every post. Look around and you will see how others do it.
Some scoots do not have a fuse box or block, only one in-line fuse at the battery. You may find an additional fuse or two under the front cover for specific devices. If I were importing scoots, a centralized fuse box with at least 4 fuses is one thing I would specify in my order to the manufacturer.

Scootondown- Here is a picture of my MC-54 showing the fuses. They are located in a fuse block on the left side next to the battery. Strangely enough, they are all 10 amp fuses.  |

ok guys i got it fixed, loose plug under the dash.
the 250B only has one fuse at the battery that i could find.
anyway everything is working great again.

They didn't have to come all the way to America to find liars. They could find all the liars they need in Chinese politics. Despite what the media would have us believe, Americans are no less honorable than other nationalities. I do, however, think that the communist and former-communist countries are looser with the truth because they are more insulated from the capitalist world. If they ever start producing higher priced, high-quality merchandise they will be held accountable to higher standards.
