Hello moped world, Yall are awesome btw. I broke a plastic fan and found the replacement from your help (http://scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=discussion&thread=58142) I figured I would be able to get the gasket to fit the area no problem, but I cannot find one with the correct bolt pattern on-line. I've looked at several websites and gasket packages but no luck. Can you help? I scoot on a Taotao 50 Thanks! Attachments:

the CVT gasket is not required. I actually have thrown out probably over a hundred because no one uses them. I dont use them in my scooter.

Wow, I never would have thought. It came with one on it so I figured I needed to replace it when it broke. it started leaking oil and I assumed it was because the gasket broke. Do you just use silicon to seal it?

If you're leaking a lot of oil in there then there may be an internal seal that's bad. Mine leaked a lot when it was new still breaking in but got better over time for some reason.

Thanks for the info yall. This is a silly question and really shows my technical knowledge here. Is it engine or gear oil that goes in here? -Super moped mechanic

Inside the CVT case should be dry but like I said mine always had some gear oil in it at least when it was new. The drain and fill bolts for the gear oil are external to that casing and are near the rear wheel.

I honestly have to replace mine because i have so much compression it will blow them out. Pretty easy fix. Just buy a new one and to install you need to remove your drive plate, variator and kick start gear and its behind that. I used tweezers to get it out. and put the new one in gently not to far.
