The black plastic pieces on my 2007 Xingyue: seem to be ABS. What are the white/painted silver pieces made of? Anybody used a bonding agent on them that melted the pieces back together? What bonding agent? I'm about to try the ABS cement I have. Or maybe PVC cement. If you've done this post up your fix.

More than likely these plastic pieces have either been painted with chrome paint, or ionized. Difficult to repair!

Just need to figure out if the plastic is ABS, or PVC then use the correct cement. Either way it'll melt the two pieces together just like welding. Bond WILL be stronger than the original.

A strong solvent like MEK, Acetone of Toluene will soften/dissolve ABS. Wet a Q-tip with the solvent and rub a spot of the bare (unpainted) plastic - if it gets soft/sticky, it's ABS. It's quite likely your bodywork is all ABS, anyways - in which case ABS pipe cement is ideal. Using the cement to saturate cloth patches is an effective way to repair and reinforce broken panels and parts. Here's an article worth a look - faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Plastics_repair_with_ABS_cement

Only thing I have seen work that is relatively easy is Amazing Goop or E-6000 (both available at auto parts stores) and then use a piece of cloth (old t-shirt or rag) and make a patch inside. Coat the area with the goop 1st then just press the cloth into the goop and put a 2nd layer on the outside afterwards. Have a buddy that used this on a 4-wheeler fairing and it worked great.

It's also possible to weld the body panels using a soldering iron and zip ties for welding sticks.

10-4 on the zip-tie welding. I don't think I've done any on my ITA 150 but I did on my Znen 150, and promptly made more crack in the left side fender moving it sideways in the garage.

My Vog is a Xingyue, and the colored body panels on that are ABS. Assuming yours are too, I used WELDON 16 and it worked great on some very extensive breakage (I hit a deer). The black on my body was a mat black plastic, and not ABS. LockTite for Plastic has held that together well.

Any idea where you got that exhaust and muffler? I have an 08 ITA 150. Yes at www.scooterelements.ecrater.com/p/13326821/v8-oval-carbon-fiber-exhaustscooter elements, $199 free shipping. Carbon fiber outside, very nice for the money. They had a sliver model for $189, but advertised on here and sold out before I could buy one. Had to do extensive modifacation to make it work. Reweld the flange on the end of the header, fab my own rear mount. Also had to chop and reweld the triangular chrome mount(seen attached to the rear wheel hangar) that comes in the kit to fit this model scoot. The painted pieces are ABS, chemically bonded them together last night with ABS cement. Seems to be a very sturdy weld.

Ok, cool. I was looking at the MRP Xinguye specific, running nearer $300, but supposedly a bolt on. I never found one in stock to buy, so I have a generic to modify as soon as it warms up. Even a year later, they still have it on their website, but when I called, they no longer carry MRP products... go figure. Same problem with several places. scooterpartsplace.com/performance-exhaust-mrp-xingyue-ita-pathfinder-150.aspx

Oh I get it, look on the front forks where it may have an ABS sticker which I always thought referred to the brakes but since the brakes are clearly NOT ABS they must be referring to the cheap plastic body pieces!
