just add a 80cc BB kit to my scoot and runs good BUT...seems to be running rich at idle .. my scoot is a Tao Tao VIP 2012 in my carb 30MM my idle jet was a 40 and main jet is 85.. I just changed idle to number 32.. ..like I said rebuild worked great went very well but want to make sure my jets are the right ones.. I dont want it to run to lean and melt piston.. but runs good now.. at idle seems rich still after changing from 40 to 32 .. should I put a number 30 idle and keep 88 main ?? oh yea stock air ..should I put performance air intake in being I have one to install would that help me also ? I have all jets to work with..

WOW 30mm Carb!!! that is basically your problem to big of a carb. I do not think you have to worry about running lean. But yes try a 30 pilot to cut some fuel. You would have done a lot better with a 24mm. 30mm carbs you will find on 250cc and 300ccs. Lefty

Millsc a member on here has done many of the mods on the 50s I am sure he will jump right in and help you with what he has tried. The jetting is always a trial and error every motor is different and what works on one motor may not work on an identical motor. You may want to PM him in case he doesn't see this thread and or the thread gets pushed down.
But usually on BBKs on the 50s a #35 Pilot and anywhere from 85-95 or so main jet depending on the size of BBK that was put on. Lefty Lefty

Hi Welcome aboard Pleased to meet you I use a 20mm dellorto with a 88 main on my 95 cc bbk Redstreak scoot scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rides&action=display&thread=55327But as lefty states what works for one scoot does not always work for another. your best bet is to get an assortment of different size jets and experiment by installing them and doing plug chops to find the proper size jet for your needs Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

Weigh your rollers and see if you want to move up or down. Also did you get a big bore head? Maybe get a different cam. Possibilities are endless!!
