Ok so I bought the bug bore cylinder and piston, no head. It was really easy and I'm a newbie ! Well I bought it for 55 bucks at a local shop. It's a 80cc (72cc displacement right?) and I bought an 85 jet. So when I put the kit in, it started right up and it only hits 40 now, lots of torque, but I didn't rejet. I checked my plug after driving around 20 miles up and down hills, and I checked the plug and it wasn't rich, nor lean! Now I know the difference if its running bad or not, but it wasn't! Is this good or should I reeeally rejet? It runs fine sounds great and all! Btw I CANNOT GET ANY OF THE SCREWS OFF THE CARB! I tried to put the jet in but the float bowl screws won't come off nor the top were the needle is! Nothing! So I have money, so can you show me the best new performance carb I should put on my 80cc? And the cheapest too if you could? And should I not be riding the scooter If its not rejetted? And what's the next new mod I should invest in? Thanks!

What kind of scooter is it, i have a roketa bahama that came with an 85 jet stock, which would of been enough for the 72cc kit. And does the float bowl have screws or are they tamper proof, if it has screws i find it best to remove the screws the first time with a set of pliers.

Ok also it is lugging when I let go of the throttle and it slows down fast , also I have to keep on the gas a lot, and does that carb have new rejets in them? Or what's up with that?

Update: I FINALLY got the screws off the carb and took out my stock 79 to an 85 and it starts right up, sounds very rich tho, so I took it for a drive and it doesn't catch up with itself and bogs down here and there, whats going on! It goes slow, then catches up and goes fast, then go slow, and fast! It's like what the ?! What's my problem now?

If you've NOT modified the air box/air cleaner or the pipe/muffler I see no reason to do any jetting.

Things are what they are if it works, go with it, just check the plug.

Ok, and my gas meter dropped in gas LOL it burned a lot of gas in a 5 min ride, I had a perfect brown color on my plug last I checked with the 79 and bbk, all else is stock, and I also want to get a performace pipe
1. Should I keep the 85 if I get a pipe? 2. What's the difference in all sound and performance in a shorty vs skinny vs fatty pipe? Thanks!

Dont forget you gotta break it in. My moped felt faster when I first did my 83 BBK, but it only got faster as time went by, peaking I think about 150miles after installation. Take it easy on it until then.
