Hello all. I have a 50cc super 8 2t and put a naraku bbk, dellorto carb 90 main jet, and technigas exhaust on my scoot. She had lots of power and acceleration but maxed out at about 48. Was riding yesterday and it just quit. Turns out the piston busted. Ordered new one but my question is should I also order bigger than a 90 jet? If so, how big? Will this help top end also? Thanks.

the 90 should be just fine. I bet when you got the bbk on you took it for a ride at full wot. am I right.. after a bbk kit it needs some brake in time so you need to go slow and easy for a few 100. miles then go up to full wot . not made to take the extra power and they well give like that...............been there done that so now I stay with stock and just be happy with going 45. a stock scoot well do 45 easy if tuned just right...................

If your running a free flow air filter your gonna want a 95 main jet at least.
You could also be having air leak issues as well if the base gasket didn't seal tightly or the sparkplug was loose.

I now use a 45 idle and 120 main jet in mine since I am near mountains . Do you have a tach ? What size weights do you have in it ? When new its tight and will go faster after its broken in . Did you put on a new belt ?

Not sure what free flow air filter is. I used the stock air box and got naraku universal filter and cut it to fit. I haven't put on new belt but scoot is broken in. There are factory weights (not sure what size yet) on it. That will be my next thing to do after engine is fixed. Right now I just want it to run. Ordered new piston and gaskets and 102,100,and98 jets. Also don't have a tach. Again, I just want to make sure I don't blow apart the cylinder and piston next time

Oil pump or premix ? I had my oil pump fizzle out on me twice . I now have Mikuni oil pump which required a different throttle cable . My scooter came with 6 gram I went down to 5 grams but it was too light for the BBK . I now have 8 gram Dr Pulley sliders . What size carb do you have in MMs ? Stock intake and reeds ? I am saving up for a Hoca intake with CF reeds to replace the stock one so it has more flow . Have you done a plug chop ?

Oil pump but thinking of changing. 17.5mm dellorto carb, stock intake and reeds. Did plug chop sat but scooter blew up yesterday. It was a little lean on sat but I tried to fix it by a/f screw but obviously that didn't work. If I mix my own gas and get bigger jets will this happen again?

Premix is safer than oil injection but again the jetting is so important on a 2t to avoid a soft seize or burn up the piston . I use a 19mm TK carb but the 2T power kits use a 21mm carb . Many have used a small carb but I will try a 21 mm this spring with larger intake . Jetting is a trial and error thing which may take a several attempts . Did you get a jet kit ?

By jet kit do you mean the main jets? I bought three new ones sized 102,100,98 whereas ther was a 90 on it before. Here's another question when specs say 17.5 mm or 19mm or 21mm etc carb what is that referring to?
