It could be under under the brass plug, not the brass part that sticks out on the side, it will be flat. Found it. Looks like fun to be. I have a spare carb to practice on first before I go drillin' on my good one. Thanks Got the spare carb out and went to work on it. OOPS I drilled too much, but I did get to the screw. I'll know better next time, and what to do better...patience.

So I got the big bore assembly a while back and it didn't come with the head with the valves. I emailed them and they said they shipped it, well today I got this in the mail... I emailed them again about it. The picture included the valves in there so I'm assuming it came with it? Attachments:

So it's one thing after another... For some reason my crankshaft wont turn all the way. I have the cylinder off and I'm still confused. It turns and then stops. Like something is blocking it. Not sure what it is! Getting very annoying with this thing lol

apologies for the double post. I got the new head on and everything put back together. I checked the timing 3 times and all is well. I adjusted the valves to .004, There's spark, compression, every hose and cable is attached. Inspected the whole thing several times, but I still cannot get it to start even with starting fluid.

Did you test for spark on the motor or frame. Test for spark on both to make sure you have a good ground from battery to frame and motor to frame. You said you checked the compression what were the readings. Lefty

Just to motor. I'll try to frame Thanks!

Just tried both, it's a healthy spark.

On the Carb there is a VENT TUBE near the top on the side of the ENRICHER, flip that up open the CARB DRAIN bowl put it in a container cup whatever and Put gas through that VENT hose and when you see it come out shut if off the bowl may be empty. All you need is about 2Oz of gas to fill the bowl., then flip the hose down again. Also turn the FUEL RATIO screw clockwise until it stops and turn it out 2 1/2 turns. Lefty

Filled the bowl and adjusted the screw still nothing. I wonder if the starter isn't cranking it hard enough. Maybe ill have to order a new kick starter and see if that works.

Do you have a car or able to jump it using a friends car or something. Just don't have the car running that is all. That will spin the starter fast enough. Lefty

What were the readings on the compression test. It may be low on compression. Lefty

I just checked the compression and I think it's way low. It's a harbor freight tester but it reads 60psi

I took it all apart and reseated the rings, checked the gaskets, etc. still can't get a compression reading over 60 psi. I'm gonna have to give up for a bit, I'm going to try to find a scooter shop to take it to I can't keep messing with it lol.

Ok Conorabc, When you took the compression test DID YOU HOLD THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN while you cranked it? You need to HOLD THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN when testing the compression.
Also when you put the rings in did you put them in the right order and also made sure that the ring gaps where spaced out around the cylinder and the gaps not lined up with each other? The gaps on each of the rings MUST NOT LINE UP with one above or below otherwise you will loose a lot of compression. Lefty

Thanks lefty for the tip on the compression test, I was not holding the throttle wide open. The rings are in the right order, and I staggered them. Ill check compression again

Did you check to make sure your engine is grounded to the frame cause sometimes we forget to reconnect it.

It's been a few days, had lots of things to do. I did another compression test with the throttle wide open and it read 64 psi. I'm going to check the head and see if the valves are seating properly

Would the fact that the head is non EGR but the valve cover is EGR have anything to do with the compression being off?
