A question about the rear rim.. On the Roketa MC-13-250- I noticed the rear rim would work itself loose every 300 to 500 miles. In doing so, it would turn funny.. So when riding the rim being loose would cause wear on the disk brakes on every turn, because the rim had play in it. I got some locktite and it holds the rim tight now. But had 2800 miles on scooter before trying Locktite.. I notice a squeek from the rear area.. Thinking it might be the rear brake being worn out, due to the rim always coming loose. The noise only occures when turning. Coming from rear area.. I thought before riding 140 miles on it last week, that it could be the belt, clutch and roller weights, but that wasn't possible because I hit speeds of 70 mph last week. I would not be able to maintain high speeds if it were the roller weights, clutch and belt.. Knowing the history of the rear rim always coming loose, knowing the brake caliper is stationary and the tire wobbles when rear rim comes loose, well eventually the real brake would wear out quicker. When putting brake fluid in the rear cyllender, well I stripped a screw out. So it is now held together by a light socket screw. So buying a new brake system would not be a total waste of money. The hub of the rim may be worn from sliding around on the splined shaft when it was loose. You may resove this by adding a shim washer or spacer to offset the wear. If the wheel hub is not worn then the shaft bearings may have started to fail prematurely due to the wheel coming loose so often.
How smooth does the wheel run when at speed? If it is pretty smooth running then you may be abe to get away with just adding a spacer however you may need a new rim at this point.

Ya, the rim is fairly new still. Bought it 3 months ago. Didn't ride much during the summer, due to hot days. Spring weather is here now, 77 degrees out doors.. It is suppose to be alot cooler, but another mild winter maybe. 77 degrees is a record high for Dec.. The wheel has no play now.. I smelled some burned rubber, when completing my 234 mile journey this weekend. It could be the belt.. Going to work on the problem thru Christmas. There is nothing majorly wrong with it, but some things do wear after 4 or 5 years. Things need to be done too, to keep it new looking like adding a high heat black paint to the exhaust and crankcase just to keep new looking. It was real fun riding and coming up to other maxi scoots and motorcycles yesterday. Attachments:

You could also use a double nut for security.

Just make sure that the filter on the CVT case is not plugged up so the belt is less likely to overheat.
